Press Freedom in Indonesia#steemit

Press freedom is prone to breakdowns in general. There are two things in the disorder;

1. Control (there are still parties to limit freedom of the press
2. Abuse (any press person utilizes the freedom in his possession to perform junalistik contrary to the function and role as a press person.
   
   The freedom of the press is contained in the distorting regulations of the 1945 Constitution of article 28 and Law No. 11 of 1966 on guaranteeing freedom of the press. Furthermore, in 1982 issued Act No. 21 on the basic provisions of the press, the press business permit, and in 1984 issued permenpen no 1 of 1984 on SIUPP, one of the provisions of the minister of information can cancel SIUPP.
   
   In practice, it is not only the factors outside the press that have the potential to control the freedom of the press, such as legislation, the action of the apparatus or the judicial period, the control of press freedom can come from the press company itself. This happens, because the press has become an industry that can provide benefits.
   As a result, some media just tend to give priority to the entertainment side rather than providing information. Political news tends to peel away the personal side of politicians rather than their thinking and performance.
