Dream 11 IPL 2020 Playoffs have started and the top 4 teams are set to play Qualifiers and Eliminators to make their way to Finals. Mumbai Indians, yet again, have dominated this season, sealing nine victories in their 14 games. They are the top favorites to clinch the trophy once again.
The defending champions have not just performed outstandingly on-field, but have also managed to stay connected with their fans during the entire season.
2020's IPL raised doubts on how fans will engage with their favorite teams but team management of every franchise did exceptionally well to curate content for fan-engagement digitally. Here's how Mumbai stood in touch with their Paltans.
Mumbai Indians introduced MITV to connect Fans with the Franchise amid COVID-19
Since Dream 11 IPL was shifted to UAE this year, Mumbai Indians fans couldn't witness live action at Wankhede or get a glimpse of their star players in India.
An idea to introduce MITV to connect with their fans and keep them engaged during the game was a great enabler.
Mumbai Indians TV gave access to pre-match, post, and mid-match analysis. They also encouraged MI Paltans to share their stories directly with the viewers. There were insider previews of MI Squad, pre-match practice sessions, post-match catch-ups, and much more.
Let's meet the host of #MILive during Pre-Match, Post-Match, and Mid-Match analysis
Throughout the tournament, the #MILive was conducted in every game of Mumbai Indians, co-hosted by Viraj Ghelani and Kunal Samant. They held live shows and interacted with both Mumbai Indians fans and also those of other teams. Viraj is an actor, art director, and content creator for Filter Copy (Pocket Aces), and Kunal is a YouTuber who owns the popular channel Cookie Way. While Viraj led the humor side of the show, Kunal answered any query related to cricket and match analysis.
The duo-hosts made it look like a cakewalk by allowing some funny discussions on the show. They are also joined by Sanika and Shivam, who are co-partners at Cookie Way. They read fan comments and tweets to keep the fan engagement enticing.
