Life is nothing but bunch of experiences, series of events. And you are certainly what your past experiences has taught you. Psychology undoubtedly says that your adverse thoughts are result of past events happened with you.
Trust?? Does it even exist?
Trust is more of putting your faith into somebody’s actions, feelings, behavior and emotions. Basically, its definition changes with the context. When you expose your vulnerability to any person, you expect the person to not misuse the chance. Any relationship exist on this earth is built over trust. If trust factor is missing, you are more likely to have immature relationship irrespective of all the love you two share. And when you see so many successful relationships around you, you can say that trust surely exist.
Modern humanity is built on trust and if you have trust issues, you face difficulties in engaging with society and live the most promising life one should lead. You share different trust aspects according to the people you are with. For ex: If you are staying with a Dog, you trust him that he will never bite you. In the same way, you expect assistance and support from your colleague. In an intimate relationship, we trust our partner if he or she is predictable, reliable, and honest.
Trust issues:
You might have heard many times “Oh, no relationship for me, thanks! I have trust issues.” Take a moment to notice the pain behind the collection of words, ‘I have trust issues’. It reflects the broken heart and unrepaired wounds. A person who’s experienced a wound heart and never want to experience that hurt again will surely have trust issues. Though this is totally injustice to the future, to the life you are missing but it clearly tells that you are not vulnerable enough to give life another chance.
A person who’s gone through few failed friendships will afraid to act casually in social meetings. Few incidents can become roadblocks to your entire life. You become unenthusiastic to take any future chances, you more likely to live a happy and alone life.
Reframe pain and take chances!
One failed relationship can never decide how your next partner is going to turn out to be. For this to explore, you need to take another chance. Life teaches you lessons not to run away from problems but to take extra layer of safeguard and to be watchful always. Every person is different, so judging one on the basis of another is not right.
I also live with this fear, I am also afraid to trust people. The only people I trust is my close family. My trust was broken several times before I became like this. It is always throbbing to live with the thought that the person you used to once trust was not worth it. It either crushes you badly or makes you robust. When you become strong, you try to not get involve in any such things again. But I am practical at the same time, it is never a hindrance in my life. I am still fighting, still learning to develop trust.
