Jama Masjid, Delhi, India

in #india7 years ago

Known formally as ‘Masjid-i-Jahan-Numa’, the Jama Masjid was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the mid-17th century. The mosque is built in a majestic Indo-Islamic style mainly in Red Sandstone and marble. Jama Masjid has three gateways, 2 minarets and four towers that provide it with an imposing look.jama-masjid-delhi-768x505.jpg

What a beautiful building. The stones and marble are an amazing color. It's like pink, but softer. I can't imagine how good this building would look in person. It seems like something that isn't really captured in a photograph. Also the clouds and sky you've captured here look so majestic. Great pic!
