Few days ago ISRO opened doors to its viewing gallery making it possible for people to visit to watch their space rocket launches. It's amazing that now in India one can see this officially. However, it's hard for many to keep track of these things in their busy work schedule.
But luckily for us ISRO has their launches mapped out until early 2020. TheHindu has come out with the list of launches from ISRO taking place over the next few months.
So all we need to do is keep a track of the registrations for the viewing gallery at Sriharikota so we can grab our seats and head there for the launch. The seats are limited at 5000 pax currently and the recent launch saw all of the seats being grabbed by the audience who visited the gallery.
You can get permit to visit the viewing gallery if you are an Indian citizen over the age of 10. You can find further details on the process in my post here
But more importantly save this image and try to track the exact launch dates so you can enroll yourself. I hope to visit for one of the launches towards the end of the year when the weather is a bit better to travel to this part of India or early 2020.
I'm a fan of space tech and what ISRO has accomplished so far. It has been on my bucket list from a long time to watch a rocket launch in-person either in India or in the US. But now that this is possible here, why not visit it especially when the entry to the viewing gallery is free of charge (atleast for now).
Back in the early 90s we'd visit an airport to see planes take off from a small viewing area in the airport when our relatives were taking off. Now we can do that with rockets in India. It's actually awesome to be able to do that. I wonder how many more decades before we can take a space flight ourselves?
Kudos to our scientists at ISRO for all they have done for our country. India is one of the few nations with these capabilities out of the 200 countries out there.

Very cool! It’s great to see India’s space ambitions grow. Hopefully in the 2020’s there’ll be a few manned missions!
