Well I dont even know where to start, every country has its fallacies and errors but I personally think people give Canada a bit more credit than it deserves as a first world country, full disclosure, I have lived here since I was 3 years old.
Currently I am sitting in a Tim Hortons, and not enjoy it. Too many times I have ended up sitting in a Tim Hortons while I wait for Canada to modernize, but that is a dream that has long come to cease to inspire me to trust my peers.
With a country so vast, open and empty, you will encounter people with different outlooks on life within a very small area, this is interesting but also comes with it's set backs like all things in life. The way Canadians shun outsiders is much akin to how it feels to be a stranger at home, you watch travellers from international destinations get front of the line service with smiles and enthusiasm... That all disappears when they see a white male who speaks clear and punctual english usually correcting my grammatical errors because I RESPECT THE LANGUAGE.
I havent understood much of the english spoken at this Tim Hortons since I have been here, I had to ask people to repeat themselves because hey are mumbling and put little to no effort into speaking clearly while at work.
The only reason I am sitting in this coffee shop is because of the underlying out of date context the RCMP uses to enforce the law in Canada.
I am just getting started here, I could talk about the law for 6 weeks, but the wheel that runs slowly is somewhat of a cryptic and staunch approach to protecting canadians rights. I had over 2 hours of my time wasted today and my vehicle impounded.
It all began as I was passing Canmore, I was followed by an RCMP suv heading west, this particular cruiser had eradicate driving patterns and was hard to predict what he was going to do, certainly not considering the other drivers whom were all changing lanes to let him pass, terrified of an interaction with the RCMP due to their cryptic and advanced methods they enforce the law with dating back to history so long ago there is not story's in my family as old as the law...
This eradicly driving RCMP suv pulled over a vehicle travelling at 100km/h in a 90 km/h zone. As soon as the next corner had passed, all 5 large commercial semi trucks began to accelerate heavily up to 100 km/h, and I followed one at 98 km/h, assuming the local commerce driver would know the best speed to travel through a national park, I continued at 98 km/h ignorantly assuming I had the same rights to travel as that semi truck driver.
As I passed 2 RCMP members parked in a median location to observe traffick, including the semi truck that was ahead of me and travelling generally faster than 98 km/h. I was immediately flagged to pull over with the RCMP SUV racing up behind me like I was going to try to run, after the adrenaline wore off from being chased by a speed demon, he approached the window and told me I have a suspended license.
This is very odd because i have not recieved the registered mail indicating, as legally required, that my license had been suspended, so this is a violation of my rights, but the semi truck doesnt matter because I am pulled over right?
The law doesnt apply to other human beings magically when you are the one who is guilty of an infraction.
After a frivolous attempt to search for cash and weed based on a smell of under 1 oz, 28 grams, the legal amount of cannabis was deemed to be present in the vehicle within arm's reach. This was certainly not endangering anyone but our cryptic legal system must be enforced.
So now I have to spend more money than my entire steem account is worth, this has fucked over my plans to help the Steem network as I wont have extra funds to invest this month.
So now that I have been endorsed as an outsider whose rights do not equivocate to a semi truck drivers in Banff National park, I will sit here and wait for my family to come pick me up spending time out of their day to fix the problems that Canada made in our lives.
Whatever was on that semi truck, I sure hope it was more important than a free and democratic society.
If you want to support me with the rediculous charges put against me for driving the same speed as a commercial vehicle, please donate to my account here on steem, I will power any Steem I recieve up to support the witnesses I was planning on helping with an investment this month.
Thanks for reading my blog, you probably dont want to live in Canada.
P.S. as I was about to press post, an RCMP officier walked into Tim Hortons, the staff immediately started speaking english... what's up with that? I guess I am not worthy of their full attention.
P.P.S. There wasnt a single female RCMP officier I could see on duty, of the 6 RCMP officers who i seen too day. Not 1 a woman, and just days after womans day?
Ouch man. Living in the part of Canada I live in I have never had to deal with the mounties but I can say you story sounds about par with what I have been told.
I am sorry you deal with A the morons at tim hortons 🤣🤣 Slow a d uneducated is a requirement at tim hortons I sware.
And the stupidity that is of our law enforcement and the high way act and cannabis act.
I did not get raised in Canada to be treated like a third world joke.
The officers I met today were dishonorable and singled me out over the semi truck driver, I was profiled and the psychic leeching here is completely unacceptable.
The light weight immigrants at tim hortons are just the Cherry on top of this pile of shit called Canada.
I'd love to identify as steemian and have my rights respected as a foreign national, we all know you get special treatment if you're not white these days, because I guess white people deserve less than equal treatment due to history right?
Shame about the fake cannabis "legalization" there. Should have gone for decrim. :(
It was a frustrating decision between the Liberals and NDP at the voting booth for this and I dont agree with either of their philosophies.
Yay!
