The person involved in the criminal case of embezzlement at the Ministry of Defense during the construction of the submarine was raped and strangled in the Petersburg detention center.
His death was given for trying to commit suicide, writes Novaya Gazeta.
According to the newspaper, engineer Valery Pshenichny died on February 5 after investigative actions. On that day, the convoy of the St. Petersburg prison No. 4 found him dead. Next to the body was a string from a hood 40 centimeters long. Employees of the detention center issued what happened for suicide.
A forensic examination conducted in February-March showed that Wheat did not commit suicide, but died as a result of injuries. The arrested person was tortured, raped, and then strangled. Sliced and puncture wounds were found on his body, in his mouth - marks from an electric injury, in addition, his spine was broken.
The reason why the engineer was mocked at the SIZO in such a way remained unclear. But before his death, as Novaya Gazeta writes, he managed to give his wife three notes asking him not to pay anything to anyone.
The deceased Valery Pshenichny was accused in a criminal case of embezzling money during the construction of the Varshavyanka submarine for the Ministry of Defense. He was the owner of the company Novit Pro, which developed a three-dimensional computer model of the boat. In 2016, the entrepreneur suspected his partner and director Andrei Petrov of multi-million embezzlement of money from the company's accounts and secured a criminal case. While in custody, Petrov testified against Pshenichny and the officer of the Admiralty Shipyards Gleb Emelchenkov, accusing them of deliberately overstating the cost of the order. The new defendants were detained and arrested, and after three weeks one of them died.
Friends and colleagues called the Wheat Engineer "Russian Ilon Mask." The boat on which he worked and, in the opinion of the investigation, on which he charged a price, was absolutely unique.
