#1077 - Cape Bojeador Lighthouse Shots for Thursday.
Good Thursday morning once more dearest Hiveans across the world! Let’s carry this calm spirit with us today. Wishing you a Thursday that is fulfilling. You're all doing great😉.
Now for our daily shots we got here some scenes that morning before lunchtime when our family.. me, my wife, our son and our friend Dandreb drove about an hour maybe from the resort we staying in Pagudpud to the famous Cape Bojeador Lighthouse in Burgos, Ilocos Norte. It was a clear and sunny day and after parking our workhorse, we had a descent uphill walk of about 200 meters up a sloping path to the entrance gate of the lighthouse. The view of the coastline from there was already great, seeing the blue South China Sea far away stretching out to the horizon.

We paid a reasonable entrance fee at the gate. Then immediately we were greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable local guide. He welcomed us and explained the history of the place as we walked. He told us that this beautiful lighthouse is over a hundred years old and is like a national treasure in this region. He pointed out all the items in there and its details and shared stories about how it guided ships during the Spanish times when we were under their colony.

The guide was nice, helpful and even offered to take our family photos, as he knows all the best angles and spots to capture whole in the lighthouse. He took several pictures of us with the majestic structure behind us and we got some fantastic shots with the old windows. Unfortunately that time, we weren't allowed to climb up to the top of the tower itself. The guide explained that an earthquake affected the structural integrity of the tower, hence making it unsafe for visitors to go up. We understood as safety always comes first.

Even without going to the top, it's still worth the experience. We explored the grounds with the classic architecture and felt the cool ocean breeze even if far away. The history and the nice views were more than enough to make this side trip worthy. Before we left to continue our day somewhere in the region, we gave our guide a decent tip as a thank you for his excellent service and for being our personal photographer. This experience was a memorable and educational stop on our Ilocos Norte adventure, one for the books😍.
