After taking some time off to develop a more robust and efficient illustration style, I created this girlie. Started off as a more of a fun sketch then I saw potential in it as a more substantial piece. I utilized common Japanese ad typography from the 80s to unify and complete the piece.

懐古趣味 (kai-ko-shu-mi) is Japanese for 'nostalgia for the good old days; taste for the past; retro tastes'. Then the subhead is the name of one of my favorite Duran Duran songs, 'Girls on Film'.

I do want to make that smaller windowed illustration its own piece, however I am still thinking on how I want to approach it typographically. Probably something of the same scheme as this one.
