Searching for the Character

I've tried different variations. We had no clue what photo should we use as a background so I've started to work right on top of some city landscapes. She was a mystical character who is eating the smoke probably helping citizens to breath? I don't really know :)

This last Marge Simpson like woman attracted me and my art director. So we've chosen her decided to adapt it. I've put her look on top of the city photo and started some tweaks.

I didn't liked that city shot because of too many colors. I felt it will not suit the character and may look distracted but luckily there was a choice of photos and I've found this shot with less colors and lot of free space for my drawing.

Looked good for this project. Approved for coloring. I've recorded few videos of the process but since the file was big it was hard to work and record at the same time. My machine was too slow. Anyway I will upload the video later here in my blog.

Tried the variant with snakes but later decided to get rid of them because it was even more strange looking.

Worked on my Microsoft Surface Pro 2017 tablet. You can draw right on the screen there. I love it but it gives pain to my neck very fast...

Final

This image was the final approved for the client. But later I've edited the eyes for my portfolio. I feel it's better with more human-like eyes.
