Here is a new experimental illustration that I will add to a new shop of prints and a range of designs I'm working on.
Follow my other artwork at my site.
The process for making it was as follows:
- Create cylindrical shapes to use as guides for later, using vector and pen tool in adobe illustrator, positioning them on the page.
- Send that image file to Procreate drawing app in my ipad.
- Sketching the other shapes like leaves onto a new layer above the cylinders with apple pencil.
- Inking with black digital line the full linework with apple pencil.
- Transfering that layer of black 'ink' linework as a transparent png back to Illustrator.
- Colouring using swatches and gradient tool a layer beneath the linework.
- Exporting as a final image in png or jpeg.
