A lot of amazing news were published by the iExec team during the last 7 days.
The project is exciting because of advantages like cutting electricity costs and minimizing pollution in addition to low cost access to decentralized computing resources. @dana-edwards mentioned the project several times in the past and here are some updates.
3 New Partnerships
The following partnership agreements were signed:
Stimergy [1]
Stimergy is the first cloud computing provider that made their decentralized servers available in the iExec marketplace. Their datacenters are called "Stimergy digital boiler" which is basically a box standing in a boiler room of buildings or swimming pools. The heat produced by the servers is used to heat water.
The big advantage is a that the digital boiler doesn't need air conditioning to cool the servers and ultimately reduces energy costs while recycling the heat. Energy consumed is divided by the factor 2. [2] [3]Cloud&Heat [4]
As you might guess Cloud&Heat also offers decentralized datacenters in a box. The heat is used to heat offices or water allowing to cut cloud operative costs by up to 50%. [5]
iExec is building Blockchain-Based Decentralized Cloud Computing and Cloud&Heat (German company) and Stimergy (French company) are a first step to achieve their goal.Journal du Coin [6]
Journal du Coin aims to make blockchain mainstream and will publish articles about the progress of the iExec project.
2 Exchange Listings
The iExec RLC token was listed on Bitfinex (Tradable against USDT, BTC and ETH) and Godex. [7] [8]
1 Secret
iExec will announce a partnership with a 3D rendering service soon.
I'm not going to take credit for it because it's their announcement and hard work. It's confirmed in their Reddit, Github repository and by an announcement that they hit a major milestone early.
