Evolution of light

      Many discoveries related to electricity were made in the late 19 - early 20 th century. Electricity became the commodity from the object of research. One of the first applications of electricity was lighting.  We rarely think about how the evolution of lighting has evolved from fire, torches, candles, oil and kerosene lamps to what we are now familiar with. 

The very first filament lamp was invented almost 200 years ago. It had a coal spiral.  
The technology did not stand at the same place and in the lamp the coal spiral was changed to a platinum, then to a bamboo thread. They also tried many other materials.    The main task was to improve the quality of lighting while reducing costs.
To improve productivity of the lamps, they used to apply different things, but this did not lead to the desired results. Now, tungsten is used in incandescent lamps, but as a result, only about 5% of the energy is converted into light. The most productive and most effectively electricity is used in energy-saving lamps (15-20%) and LED lamps (up to 90%).

The main advantage of using LED lamps is a reduction in energy consumption, which will scale down the amount of electricity production and significantly reduce CO2 emissions from burning of fuel. It will positively affect the environment. 

How do LED bulbs affect people's health with all these advantages?
Scientists conducted different studies, and they showed that the light of such lightbulbs calms, normalizes the emotional state, improves mood and helps to preserves mental health.
It is recommended to use them in offices; it increases efficiency, decreases emotional tension in work collectives.
In Germany, the discovery displays that LED light rejuvenates, improves the skin elasticity, smoothies out the wrinkles and enriches the complexion.
Medical research has confirmed that this light speeds up the restoration of damaged tissues, even neurons are recovered. 

Scientists continue to study this field, so there will be a lot of new discoveries.  
The territory of application of LED: for domestic needs, for the production area, for housing and communal services and lighting of offices, streets, parks, roads, for architectural lighting.
At that moment, according to experts, LED is the most productive and practical technology in lighting. Future starts with it.
To combine efforts of introduction the LED lighting, the platform Terawatt was created.
