In the 21st century, many people have become accustomed to everything being delivered to their doorstep in a timely manner. Be it food, clothing, furniture, or less conventional products, the desired item is just one click away. We forget how much work and how many intermediaries are involved in the delivery process.
Some products, especially food and drugs, require an unbelievable number of precise storage and transportation techniques to ensure that they are delivered in proper condition. Documentation alone will cost a pretty penny for any logistics company, and that’s without considering all the packaging and transportation expenses.
Transportation logistics industry is overdue for a technological revolution. In fact transportation is one of the fields that has changed drastically with every innovation, for example shipping containers, barcodes, parcel tracking software – all brought incredible improvements in their own time. Now blockchain takes center stage.
What really drew my attention to the SmartContainers project is the fact that SmartContainers group encompasses a number of successful companies that are engaged in transportation of pharmaceuticals and other products, have developed innovative packaging techniques and are in a unique position to bring new developments to the table. Their plan is to create two tokens, one for their primary specialty – pharma, and second for a far more ambitious undertaking – creating a worldwide logistics ecosystem.
Let’s take a closer look at SkyCell, a pharma logistics company, that has entered top four companies in the field thanks to its state-of-the art technology, and FoodGuardians – a new rising food container company. Now SmartContainers wants to bring both to a new level, through funding using a SMARC token. As part of the offer to the cryptocurrency community, an additional project, called LOGI CHAIN, will be run, in order to take a shot at disrupting the logistics industry by creating a fully integrated, seamless logistics ecosystem open to everybody and built on the blockchain.
The success of SMARC is in large part due to the considerable amount of research they have done, that culminated in the invention of their cooling containers that they now use to transport pharmaceuticals and food stuffs. As opposed to other solutions on the market, Smart Containers have a highly efficient insulation material that minimizes heat conduction. In combination with their innovative blockchain based software, Smart Containers is ready to overtake the industry with the SMARC token.
The plan of LOGI CHAIN, the second project, is as follows: a logistics unit, such as a parcel, container, etc. is mirrored as a virtual product (chip) on a blockchain infrastructure. This minimal chip will be available for purchase to anyone and the information held inside it (documentation, specifications, description) will be accessible to the allowed parties. Other, more general information on the chip will be public, possible to view through a public blockchain.
LOGI CHAIN ecosystem was designed to bring the reduction of costs, shipping delays and even improve the environment by cutting down on paper waste. So basically, the end goal here is a fully decentralized shipping parcel that is automatic and is regulated through smart contract and billed through cryptocurrency. You can draw a parallel between Linux Foundation and LOGI CHAIN Foundation, as their goals are similar but in completely different spaces.
To help fuel this ecosystem, a utility token will be issued, under the name of LOGI token. As you would expect, all transactions, payments, fees, etc. will be paid in LOGI tokens.
All in all, SmartContainers group does not keep all its eggs in one basket. There is huge potential in both undertakings – the SMARC token and the LOGI token bring integration of cryptocurrencies into transportation logistics space and reduce costs, increase speed, and help scale the companies up rapidly.

promising project that might bring profit for investors
as far as i know they have already collected around 13 million USD during the token sale
I think I've seen some of this company's work before, through my job. Didn't know they were doing an ICO, definitely very promising if they keep up the same business as they did before.
I really like their container technology, my boss could try to buy the patent
