The growth of gadget usage and smartphone users has revolutionized the traditional way of doing things. Sports for an instance has taking a new shape, all because of technology. From traditionally going to sports centers to view content, to streaming it online. Right now, some companies are researching on how to better this by providing a more convenient way of streaming contents online. Social media is now a go to for sports contents, e.g. twitter’s most discussed topics becomes details of the instantaneous sport being played. Viewers relate more with other fans through this medium. Through emotions are shown, details are debated on, fans enjoy the through content more when they have and share the emotions of their fellow fans. It has been identified that though these success in behavioral change are made possible by fans, they are not rewarded for the assist they render in helping sports streaming sites and social media gain such attracting traffic.
Fanchain has identified a business pattern and opportunity that lies in rewarding fan for their activities. By factoring fans into the equation, fans will be rewarded with Fanchain Token which can be used within the sports ecosystem. There is a concept designed by Fanchain called mint, powered by a DApp which allow sports team, sport league and media platforms to distribute stamped Fanchain token. This will encourage fans to be more active on the platform by providing commentary and shared news, emotions and other form of detailed content.
In addition to the conventional Fanchain tokens, the FanWallet and the FanExchange that is a typical feature of an exchange, there is a FanPay feature which will enable holders of the FanChain token make payments with the token.
When this project is launched, it will redesign and provide more engagement for sports content viewers by providing regional commentary through the fans whose activities, reactions and chit chats about the ongoing sports are televised. Imagine the younger viewer’s reaction and engagement if the commentary and live reactions and chit chats of younger individuals are displayed on a second screen, alongside the viewed game.
