ABOUT MAESTRO
Blockchain technology can not be denied changing the face of the digital music industry. However, the existing blockchain music service only focuses on improving flow and established distribution structures, and fails to address the underlying problems of today's industry. Future music products developed with blockchain, unlike its predecessors, must utilize technology to provide innovative functions that revolutionize the music industry at its core.
Maestro began with such a need, to solve the problems that engulf the music industry today: that is, the unfair structure of the industry itself. Third parties, such as labels and agents, are currently reaping more than 80% of the profits generated, making artists almost without support and struggling with financial burdens. Music player companies only exacerbate this inequality through inefficient bureaucracy.
We at Tim Maestro believe that in order for the music and the industry to flourish, we must provide an environment that focuses primarily on promoting creative endeavors of artists and ensuring fair compensation. Therefore, we propose a blockchain-based music platform that acts as a creative ecosystem established in a cohesive cycle of cooperation between creators and consumers.
Music distribution rights are now monopolized by third parties such as labels and production companies, who have used their influence to control the resulting profits. The inequalities inherent in such a distribution structure affect not only artists, but also consumers, who become weighed down by the unreasonable price they have to pay to enjoy music. Maestro aims to create a transparent industry through decentralization with blockchain technology. By leaving the "broker" of the process, consumers will be able to use a streaming service at a much more reasonable price.
The emergence of Blockchain and Problems
With the birth of Ethereum and its revolutionary intelligent contract, much effort was made to apply this technology in the music industry as well. We are seeing more and more examples of blockchains being used, such as "Opus," a Ethereum-based music service; "Resonate," a service that offers a unique profit allocation structure, and "Choon," a platform that focuses on distribution revenue.
Most blockchain-based music platforms focus on obtaining copyright, allocating music acquisition issues, and improving structural transparency. The Maestro team also agreed on these three areas of improvement. However, we have doubts about whether a copyright-focused approach or a profit distribution can indeed revolutionize the music industry and set up an environment that can be boldly transferred by artists from existing labels. Currently emerging are the following issues that accompany blockchain-based services:
Agony for Consumers: Lack of Music from Existing Labels
The new platform lures artists into blockchain-based services to secure their rights. This is a positive change, as it allows them to secure and operate their copyrights without the need for intermediaries. Listeners have different problems. Because customers want mainstream music from famous artists, most streaming services feel the need to invest in supporting as much content as possible and serving various tastes. Blockchain technology is the basis of many innovative efforts, but because of the difficulty of getting the right to mainstream music from label companies, it is not easy to meet the needs of many customers.Agony for Production Companies and Artists: Opposition to existing structures
To build a new structure, production companies or artists have to leave their current labels. However, failing to retain business with current labels can cause problems with production costs. It is not easy for production companies to completely abandon their relationship with the label, challenge the established industrial structure, and join a new paradigm.Agony for Labels: Lack of Benefits
There is no real benefit to be gained with the labeling of new blockchain services. Instead, such services will cause them to lose their current monopoly on copyrighted music. Despite the many problems it causes in the industry, it must be acknowledged that labels must retain their current rights through various endeavors, activities, and expenditures. It is clear that every party in the music industry today has a different position and point of view.
The Maestro team has decided that industrial problems can not be solved by proposing an idealistic model that does not take into account the perspectives of each stakeholder. As such, we have taken a different approach from existing blockchain based music services - this will provide new elements that will prove to be interesting despite the problems mentioned earlier. Thus, we at Maestro have focused on considering the complex relationships that exist between all parties in the industry.
Solution
Solution to Problem: 'Capital'
Maestro focuses on 'capital' to solve the above mentioned problems - in particular, the costs required to produce the song. Capital problems arose before other important issues including a fair income distribution and the improvement of the structure of the music industry. Since capital is a key element that runs the music industry today, it is safe to predict that improving the funding process will provide a fundamental solution to its problems.
Current Production Process
Production companies receive funding as investment from labels to produce music. As such, they first transfer the exclusive rights to the distribution. Even if only part of the rights are transferred, the artist should just distribute their music through the label. After the contract is withdrawn, the artist has no choice but to follow the process set to receive proper funding and publish their work.
Solution 1: Crowdfunding for Music Production
To create an all-encompassing musical ecosystem, Maestro focuses on solving capital problems and providing streaming streaming streaming services. Maestro will solve this problem through crowdfunding.
Crowdfunding is an alternative financial service that enables a project or a business by raising money from many people. Already known as the business method used by Kickstarter and Indiegogo, funding of $ 16.2 billion has been invested worldwide through this method.
Crowdfunding has solved funding problems for promising business and projects while creating new processes that allow early users to select products to produce. Many projects, especially in the arts, have successfully started through this process.
Maestro wants to apply the concept of crowdfunding organically throughout the music industry. We aim to create an ecosystem where production costs are generated by fans and investors, and the benefits generated by streaming songs are distributed equally among artists and investors. Blockchain technology will thus play an important role in providing funds to produce music and distribute its rights equally.
Solution 2: Models of Reason and Breakthrough for Consumers
Maestro methods will bring more benefits to consumers as well. Maestro service already makes sense about the pricing policy in which the consumer pays according to the number of songs that actually flow. If consumers do not use any of the services provided, they are not charged. Maestro provides incentives to consumers by allowing subscription packages that are fully playable based on usage. This funding structure provides new investment and communication opportunities for consumers. Consumers can choose to communicate directly with artists and become active participants in their projects. If the projects they finance are successful, they can expect a share of the profits based on their investment amount. Maestro is the first blockchain platform in which consumers and artists can help each other for mutual benefit.
Advantages of the project:
- Payment for users only for what they listen to. At the same time, payments are lower than other services. In simple words, payments for actual consumption.
- For artists to solve the problem of raising the price of production. As a result, artists will receive a fair profit. No need to worry about the cost of producing music. Creative work will have their rights.
- All profit distribution among token holders.
- Artists can set distribution ratio.
- Structure of transparent benefits of the service.
- Absence of intermediaries in a decentralized streaming service.
Project Structure:
The platform offers two dapps: Ensemble and Symphony.
Ensemble: Community Mobilization Center for Artists and Fans.
- Ensemble will provide secure artists, and direct donation methods for all new or existing projects. Fans who contribute to the project, on the other hand, will be able to directly engage with the creative process of the artists they most like. Great composers believe that such an ecosystem will benefit both sides and open new boundaries for artists - the audience.
Symphony: Creator and Customer Service Flow.
- Symphony will serve the world music industry with a fair and efficient distribution system. Creators, on the one hand, will be able to take the real advantage they deserve. Consumers, on the other hand, will love the online music service, it's cheaper. Supported by Interstellar File System (IPFS), which works on the EOS network, Symphony Orchestra will provide high quality music with a simple touch.
Token Funding and Distribution
Token
MAEs are provided via a snapshot of the wallet in Ensemble. Platform advantage is allocated once per week. The goal of the Maestro team is to decentralize the profit structure through blockchain technology. All platform advantages are affected by the number of MAEs owned. The unsold token will
annihilated. Due to inflation, the publishing of additional tokens is expected to occur once per year, and further publication is prohibited as a rule.
Token Name - Token Token Maestro Symbol
- Price of MAE
- 1 ETH = 10,000 MAE
- Tokens for sale - 620,000,000 MAE
- Unsold tokens will be burned.
