What is Effect.AI ?
Before going into specifics, I want to inform you that the whitelist process starts in less than 9 hours. In case you want to invest in this project, you should be ready for it. So what is Effect.AI ? It is a decentralized network for artificial intelligence. You are wondering what that means right ?
Basically what they want to accomplish is building a decentralized mechanical turk, like the one that amazon has only that it is decentralized, which is a key factor. Amazon's mechanical turk is an online platform where you can go and hire people to do very small tasks like doing searches, click your page in the search results and do some small actions. But like major platforms they take a fee for buyers and sellers. So by creating a decentralized version of the mechanical turk you will be able to remove the middleman and lower the fees.
In the end the mechanical turk decentralized model will end up powering artificial intelligence.

Idea : by creating a standard for AI development, anyone can develop an AI intelligence. This will create multiple AI's which, through a standard, can interact and create on emergent AI

Phase 2 : Effect Smart Market ( a decentralized marketplace where AI algorithms can exchange their services)
Phase 3 : Effect Power
In the final ‘Effect Power’ phase of the network, the actual computation will be distributed so that the algorithms run globally without a single point of failure. To achieve this, The Effect Network uses the fact that most machine learning algorithms have rigid structure and operate on sets of weights.
Effect.AI’s main objective is to build an AI development platform that will stand the test of time. To accomplish that, they have to design a platform that is resistant to outside influence or manipulation by third parties. This necessarily means preventing whales and syndicates from being able to destabilize the platform. In addition to a strict whitelist and KYC process for the Public Token Sale, a key component of the platform will be the Galaxy Pool. Having a central pool of EFX tokens will ensure the necessary level of liquidity is always maintained. This allows:

The project is very transparent and their decisions were professional so far, token terms are also ideal. Their first advisor was just revealed today. There'll be no Gas war during the sale because it's a NEP5 token, I will register to the whitelist as soon as possible.
@drcath I like it very much also, tokenmetrics and tokenomics look very good. I saw that they revealed Charlie Shrem as their first advisor. I will register for the whitelist as soon as possible also, I hope they don't have a cap for the whitelisted persons, have to wake up early just to be sure :) . Regarding the contribution, which probably be in march, I hope there will be no wars and the process will be smooth. I have a bad taste from THE KEY ICO and Seele, both with no working websites because of the traffic. But I am sure EFFECT made and will make the necessary preparations in advance, especially that they saw others mess up those processes.

It looks like a trading platform project (I don't remember its name) where the most novice and inexperienced people in this context can rent bots with artificial intelligence, who perform the technical analysis and give you the points to buy and sell, depending on the trading system you use.
The artificial intelligence will surely serve with the blockchain to facilitate us many tasks... But, we must be careful with it.

I think you are talking about another project when you are talking about trading, but not sure what project, heard something not so long ago. Regarding trading projects on the blockchain , I know about Genesis Vision and Covesting, but they aren't using AI as far as I know. The projects are for different purposes.
The artificial intelligence is the future, even if we like it or not. We will see it implemented in many aspects of our life.

It may seems good to know they are marketing in the AI. I just hope the plan is executed well I mean no need to be rush though. Delivering the idea into action and making it happen will surpass most of the current tokens/coins on whatever they have been promising.

In the Cryptocurrency series I want to talk exactly about this kind of subjects that you are talking about. Security for your coins and on exchanges, ICO's, how to spot a good project, etc... Just that lately I posted a lot in Dmania :) As you probably already know it becomes adictive.
I like your article, you are making valid points. To spot a scam ICO or an ICO which doesn't have a good future, I am also looking at tokenmetrics and tokenomics. Also if they raise a huge amount which they don't need it's a red flag.
Unfortunately there are a lot of people that don't research first and a lot of people that want to take advantage. I always research the projects that I want to invest in, I am also in some groups that research ICO's, where I ask if I am uncertain.
On steemit or any other platforms, I will never recommend ICO's in which I don't want to invest myself. Sometimes I will not be able to invest because there will be no room left, as this is the case lately in many good ICO's. I hope I will get whitelisted for Effect.AI , because it's one of my two primary ICO's that I want to invest in the upcoming future. The other one is NEX.
