When I was still working for Cebu Pacific, there was a period when I was sent to Palawan as a reinforcement. It was only for roughly 5 days to compensate for a position that was understaffed due to a lack of workforce. Palawanese people, particularly Cebu Pacific personnel, were extremely accommodating, warm, and easy to get along with. In Palawan, I'm having a terrific time. Despite the fact that I was unable to visit the famous Underground River or El Nido, the sites I visited were interesting and memorable.
Palawan
Palawan is best known for its beaches, eco-friendly parks, lagoons and exotic foods. It is located in the region of MIMAROPA. it is an archipelagic province of the Philippines and probably the largest province in terms of land area. Its capital city is Puerto Princesa. The most notable destinations are El Nido, Calauit Safari Park, Lagoons in Coron and the famous Underground River.
The Cebu Pacific Office
When I was with them, I was received with warm and open hands. I had little trouble assimilating to the new culture. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of my stay there.
With the Palawan Crew.
They even toured me at the watch tower.
The Food
Palawan is famed for its delicious seafoods and diverse cuisine. Tamilok and Chao Long Noodles are two of its delicacies.
Tamilok, sometimes known as woodworm but it's not a worm, It's a mollusc that lives in the mangrove tree's branches. They resemble worms because of their long, thin, slippery bodies. An exquisite cuisine that can only be found in Palawan.
Here goes nothing.. Tastes like squid, I guess... Or a clam something like that.. Hahaha
Chao Long noodle soup is said to be a Vietnamese pho variant. A sweeter, richer broth with chunks of beef, herbs and spices, and the fresh rice noodles has also been added to suit the Filipino palate. It's available everywhere, including carenderia (roadside eateries) and restaurants. It's also great if you're feeling a little tipsy.
Always best when tipsy...
The Tourist Spots
If you want an ideal hideaway from the hustle and bustle of city life? Estrella falls is the perfect get away. Estrella Falls is a pair of waterfalls in the center of a forest. It takes an hour to get there from the city. It is situated in the Narra Municipality. In Estrella Falls, you will find relaxation and serenity. It also has several uncommon plants, including orchids and herbs. There are also birds and monkeys that are visible in the area.
No monkeys insight. Just the one looking at it. Hahaha
The Plank
Crocodile Farm and Nature Park
Crocodile Farm and Nature Park is a prominent tourist attraction that also serves as a conservation and research center for Palawan's endangered wildlife. A mini-zoo with a variety of mammals, reptiles, and birds, such as the Binturong or Palawan Bearcat, may be found here. Exotic dishes such as crocodile meat and crocodile sisig are also available.
The biggest croc ever captured. Godzilla will be ashamed. Hahaha
A kiss to a Croc
And most of all the famous exotic delicacy. The Crocodile sisig.
If you're looking for a unique and delicious pasalubong (souvenir) , look no further. Bakers Hill is where you should be.Baker's Hill is where some of the city's most delectable treats may be found. The most popular items are hopia and kasuy (cashew nuts). This tourist destination is known not only for its wonderful, freshly baked local delights, but also for the park where you can rest and enjoy the scenery of Palawan.
Looking for a romantic getaway? Look no further there is a firefly watching within the city. The Firefly Tour at night at the Puerto Princesa Iwahig Firefly Watching Mangrove Eco-Tourism and Wildlife Park is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to watch fireflies in their natural habitat. This sightseeing tour lasts a leisurely 4 hours, giving you plenty of time for a romantic vacation with your special someone, a close friend, or a family-friendly nature expedition.
wish you were here...
There is an old steel bridge beside the Iwahig Firefly Watching Mangrove Eco-Tourism and Wildlife Park that is beyond repair. The inhabitants have a new bridge that they utilize, but the old one was never dismantled because of its historical or significant worth to the community.
It became a tourist spot for those with no fear! But my knees are shaking...
The Verdict
I had a fantastic experience in Palawan and will definitely return. Have you ever visited the island of Palawan? Hive is a place where you can share your stories and experiences.
You might be thinking that there is something missing,I did not mention any beer or booze. Right? Well that's another story, so stay tuned for more adventure.
