You decided it would be best to further explore the ship. Who knows you might have a better idea of what you need to make some repairs. At the very least it would be nice knowing how bad things are. Perhaps you are just imagining that things are far worse than they are.

The biggest risk you fear is trying to open a door that sends you into the deep cold empty vacuum of space. You know there is some heavy damage to parts of the ship. Not all of it will be passable.

That is when you recall there are several cameras on the outside of the ship pointing to different sections of the hull. They are mainly used by maintenance crews to check for damage. Since you are the maintenance crew now. It’s only fitting you take advantage of what information you can gather from them.

You just hope there is enough power left to get a decent glimpse at the screen as things flipper off and on again. Thankfully the controls for the cameras are still in working order and they don’t take that long to pane around looking.

The first camera while hard to see with how glaringly bright the outside of that part of the ship is. The ship almost looks like it is in perfect working order. While it’s clear a few heat tiles are missing from the ship. You do not notice anything that is glaring at you that could be wrong.

The next camera you start to pan around but it is a bit harder to see. There is not as much light on that part of the ship. While it is not total darkness either you can make out most shapes. You do notice there seems to be a rather dark shape that looks like it could be a hole. If only you had a 10 by 10 metal sheet you could patch up that hole resolving the air leak of the ship. That would require doing an EVA (Extra Vehicular Activities)

Finally, you pan the last working camera you can find. You realize there is a giant hole where the reactor of the ship is. It’s quite clear you would never be able to patch how badly damaged that side of the ship is. The reactor itself almost looks like it is in working condition however looks like a giant power line was damaged. If only you had some power cables you could repair it and perhaps fix the issue with the power. You however would need to wear your space suit as that part of the ship is not pressurized.

Do nothing. Perhaps with a little more thinking you could come up with a better plan.

Move the ship closer to a massively damaged ship so you could board it easier for a salvage operation. It appears you now know what you need just have to find it.

Move the ship to a small cluster of what looks to be escape pods. Perhaps one of them still works that you could use.

Choose your own adventure huh?? Where does it start?

This 70k-word interactive fiction is still rolling out. It should be fully released tomorrow sometime. That will include the start and instructions. This is more or less posting backwards so when someone finds this account one of the first posts is the starting post.

I’ll be making an announcement post on @enjar when this one is ready.

In the meantime, if you enjoy this kind of content I have a much shorter one I wrote last year called @forbiddenlockbox.
