Howdy sir Jerry! I like to think that there is hope for us but people always tell me I'm not realistic! lol. I think there is more good being done in the world than bad but I don't know how to prove it.

I'm with you Jon Boy, it is just that "The News" and all the "lamestream media" only want to show the bad stuff.
Oh the national news shows like to end with an upbeat story, but it is an afterthought.
Very true. They've always said that people are more interested in bad news but I don't know if that's true anymore, they should try it the other way around and see what happens!
I agree, for me the main reason I watch the news, the local news is for the local weather, and to see if there has anything happened close to me or anyone I know.
Otherwise, it is all robberies, murders, car-jacking, home invasions etc etc.
Also it is useful to know of any road closures due to construction or accidents.
National news, I watch mainly to see if there have been any volcanic eruptions, earthquakes or large storms, assassinations or coup d'état's that will affect me, my country or family/friends around the world.
Otherwise, I have no use for the sports, the impeachment trials (what a waste of time; I mean really, congress almost never gets any work done in the first place, but the Dems had the whole show all tied up for what? 8 months?)
Howdy today sir Jerry! I agree and that's why I watch the local and national news too. Usually just watch the first 10 minutes or so of national news to see if anything major has happened and then the local for the reasons you mentioned.
We also are on a local email group that is for just our part of the county and people get on there and talk about things happening in the neighborhood like any theft going on or lost pets or flooded roads, etc.
Yeah the impeachment trial just demonstrates that congress is the very best at wasting time and money!
you just said a mouthful @janton
lol..well, I know politics is necessary because that's the only way to get things done but man, what a nasty business! I hate the business of politics.
Politics is a bad word.
Hey @janton, I shared your post to my FB profile, and one of my friends commented this:
"Two great stories of heroism. Loved them both."
Oh that's so kind of them to say that and thank you for sharing the post, I didn't even know people did things like that on facebook. Well, to most people on Steemit you don't even dare mention fb! lol.
Oh I will, I will say I posted something over in you know where (that is a link to my FB profile ha ha ha)
There are links at the bottom of your posts where you can share directly TO your FB profile @janton
That's true, I just never took much notice of those because I'm not on fb or twitter. Are you on twitter or reddit as well?
I have accounts in both places. Can't stand reddit though, and I almost never go to my twitter account.
I used to routinely share my posts from Tsū to Twitter, but I haven't been bothering with Steemit, seems like it can't find my account or something.
There is this new #posh thing going around (Proof Of Sharing) where that #posh is a link to twitter where you've shared your post.
I have no idea why that should be of value to spend our time jumping though even more hoops.
Oh wow, no I don't like jumping through hoops. lol. And you can't earn anything on twitter or reddit can you?
No, reddit nor twitter pay for posting, nor does FB for that matter, but I have over 1400 friends and followers there. I've been doing the "Suckabug two step" since about 2003 (Suckabug = Zuckerberg, the idiot who founded FB and can't afford a decent haircut)
So I just can't turn my back over there. As much as I hate it, I know when I've received a PM, (private message) I can see my newsfeed (if I want, now steemit has done away with the newsfeed) etc etc... my brothers and sisters and most of my friends could never POSSIBLY hope to navigate through the madness that steemit and the other front ends have become.
