That's a great idea. I am not a very DIY person so I believe using an online laser cutting and engraving service as Ponoko will do the job for me.

Absolutely! FWIW I recommend against using any online service. The laser cutting operator will definitely get access to your private keys. Who know who else... You might as well put the private keys on a billboard. IMO Only DYI is safe.
good point, only they do not know your public key matching the private ones :)
But I agree, it may not be a good option
Careful! A public key can be derived from a private key. All that's required is the private key for signing a message
