400 Followers!!! – Really? – Some quick advice from @papa-pepper

in #howto8 years ago

So, it looks like I just hit 400 followers while I was sleeping.

How in the world did that happen?

Building a following can be difficult, and getting noticed in the first place can be hard enough. I've been on steemit about two months now, and just reached 406 followers, so I'll be sharing a little of what I learned.

Though I cannot promise any particular results, here is some advice on how to get noticed and get followed.

UPVOTES & COMMENTS

I cannot stress enough the importance of combining these two. I will also discuss them together, because I think that they should not be separated. If you like a post and upvote it, your name will quickly be buried if 20 or more people with more power upvote it too. Though it is possible to look up your name with some effort, most authors simply won’t. This is why a comment is important. Also, a comment is more personal and actually conveys some of your personal “flavor” to the author you are upvoting.

However, just commenting on a post, without the upvote, may not have the desired effect. There is a benefit to the interaction, but you will appear to many to just be fishing for followers or upvotes yourself, without being willing to give anything in return.

I would also strongly suggest that you refrain from putting the same comment on every post that you see. We’ve probably all seen this occur multiple times. If you want to get flagged as a spammer, this may be a good method, but it does not really help build the community.

When commenting, I would also strongly suggest that you read the post that you are commenting on. Simply skimming a post and seeing that the author mentioned carrots could lead you to reply, “Awesome post. I like the Carrots too. You Rock, Steemit Rocks, and Carrots Rock too! FULL STEEM AHEAD!” However, if the author mentioned carrots as a potential health hazard and was in the process of suggesting foods that you could substitute for carrots, then you’ll look like and idiot. Not only will the author think that you’re a fool, but everyone who see your comment will too. Be careful.

Comments and Upvotes are very encouraging to many authors, especially when they are combined. They are a great way to show your support to the author, and many authors appreciate that. If they begin to reply to your comments, there is a chance to interact and build a relationship. This is why I almost always respond to every reply I get. It allows me to interact with the person who replied to my post, and we can build a relationship.

I would strongly suggest replying to many, if not all, comments that you get on your posts, especially if someone asks you a question. Please answer it and show that you care. The more interactive you are, the more it encourages others to interact with you.

Upvoting replies is a great way to encourage more interaction too. If someone had a great reply to your post, show them by upvoting it. I have actually seen replies to some posts make more than the original post itself.

FOLLOWING

Following those who are following you is great way to interact more. Not only does it allow you to see what they are up to, but it allows you to upvote and comment on their material more easily. A lot of the “if you follow me, I’ll follow you” mentality is common among minnows here, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Personally, I plan on following all my followers, but I don’t always make sure to take the time to check my list and click “follow” for all of them. I’m still following more people than are following me, but I am not yet following all of my followers.

Sometimes just mentioning “I’m following you” in a comment can encourage someone to follow you back. I now follow multiple people specifically because of this. However, if I see the same person replying the same way to every new post I look at, I then choose not to. I understand that they may truly have just started following me, but apparently they just started following everyone. I’d still be willing to give them a chance, but the copy-paste comment assault basically becomes spam when they are doing it on every post by every user, which is a turn off.

CONTESTS

Contests are a great way to interact more and perhaps pick up some followers. Generally, there are three ways to be involved in a contest.

The simplest way to be involved with a contest is as a participant. If you check tags like contest, competition, or challenge, you can often find some great and interesting contests to participate in. Whether you are looking for something like a photo challenge, a food competition, or eating super-hot peppers, you’re sure to be able to find something that might interest you.

As you compete, you’ll often interact with other participants as well as the person (or people) running the contest. Just being entered in a contest can help get your name out there a little more. If you do well in the contest by placing or even winning it, it’s a sure way to at least get some attention, and potentially some followers.

Running a contest is another option, and you are almost guaranteed to get some more followers from doing it. Running contests can be a lot of work, and often there can be expense too. As time goes on, it seems that it gets harder to think of contest ideas that haven’t already been created, which can be another hurdle. If you’ve got a great idea for a contest that you would like to start, why not give it a try? If you pick up some new followers in the process, even better.

In fact, I’m going to be giving away the TATTOO STORY CONTEST in the near future. It’s currently in its 5th week, and has had varying results. It’s been fun and I’ve definitely made some friends and followers, but I wanted to give someone else the chance to reap the benefits of running it for a change. My SCAR STORY CONTEST is one that I’ll keep running for now, so if you’ve got a scar and a story to go along with it, consider entering. You’ll get some exposure anyway, and maybe even some followers or STEEM.

The other option for being involved in a contest is as a donor or sponsor. This one will probably cost you the most, but unless you do it anonymously, you’ll usually at least get a mention for your support. Whether it will gain you any followers or not is questionable, but it can be a great investment in the steemit community.

Every once in a while I also get a little crazy and just put a post out there full of little games with real payouts for getting the correct answers. It’ll cost me a few STEEM Tokens , but it’s a lot of fun and people get to win some STEEM. Random contests like that probably encourage people to follow me too, because they are time sensitive and unless my entry shows up in your “feed”, you may miss your opportunity to win.

GREETING

Obviously there are new steemians showing up in our community every day as more people continue to sign up. Greeting them into the community is a great way to encourage them, and some may even begin to follow because of your greeting. Of course these fresh minnows are not worth very much most of the time, but steemit isn’t all about the money, is it?

Just like with newcomers, there is an opportunity for us all to grow in this community. If we make friends as minnows and grow up as dolphins together, our upvotes will eventually be worth more on one another’s posts, which is not a bad thing!

In this community, many people do receive extremely warm and encouraging welcomes, but others get missed. As members of this community, we not only represent ourselves, but the whole community. Hopefully someone in a community this large can be able to greet a newcomer.

I found an introduction post from a guy last night that had been there for four hours and only had one vote, his. I'm glad that I happened to check out what was going on with newcomers, because at least I was able to upvote him and comment. With all of the users on steemit, no one had welcomed him yet. I even made a little logo for him just to encourage him a bit. I'll have to check out the new arrivals a little more often...

LINKS

Links can be a great way to get people to check out some of your material, but there are some general rules about them. First, a HYPERLINK looks the most professional. To hyperlink, place a word or series of words inside some brackets, like [THIS]. Then, copy and paste the web address inside parenthesis immediately following the brackets like this, (https://steemit.com/gardening/@papa-pepper/why-the-best-time-ever-to-be-a-gardener-is-now). When [THIS] is touching (), you’ll have a successful hyperlink that looks like THIS, so the long web address is hidden and only the word THIS shows up.

You may notice those peculiar blue words in other posts. Feel free to click on one and see where it takes you!

When adding a link, it is best to do so in your own posts. Linking or hyperlinking your posts in the replies to other steemians’ posts can be considered a form of spam, so be careful. I prefer to just mention that I made a specific post, and let the author whose post I’m commenting on search it out for themselves if they want. Multiple times, the authors have hyperlinked my post themselves in their comments, just because I pointed them in that direction and they thought it was worthy. That is an interesting thing to see happen, when another person promotes your posts, but I’ll cover more of that in the next section.

Since posts now have two payouts, one in about a day and another about a month later, you may want to link posts that have already passed their first payouts. If I’m doing a new poem, I may link some of my older ones in case anyone wants to check them out. If they like those ones too, they may upvote them. If you create a series, especially a story or “book”, I highly recommend linking previous posts to allow new viewers to catch up. If makes their job of finding them easier, and could earn you some extra steem too. A good example of linking previous posts in a series can be found at the end of THIS POST. (<-- Click BLUE LETTERS to follow hyperlink to example.)

In the chatrooms you can also promote a bit, but the best way is in the “postpromotion-moderated” room. You are allowed to post once per two hour period, and others there are likely to check out your link. Just copy the web link and paste it in the message line prior to pushing “send”. The post image and link will appear in the chatroom, and all will be able to see.

FREE ADVERTISEMENT

The best way to get free advertisement is to be friendly and be yourself. That’s all that I’ve done, and I’ve received a lot of “free advertisement.”

By “free advertisement” I mean when others mention your name in their posts, or even link your posts. I remember one day after spending about 5 minutes reading some posts in my “feed”, I noticed that four of the articles specifically mentioned my name. One even had my name in the title. Obviously, this exposes a lot more people to my existence than I could accomplish on my own. I’ve even seen people that I hadn’t directly “talked” to mention my name in posts or in chatrooms. What a blessing.

Interestingly, two posts that I saw with my name in the title of the post were because of my involvement with contests. In one post @matthewtiii was trying to follow my recipe from a food challenge entry. In another post, @steemitpatina mentioned me in the title because I was running the Tattoo Story Contest. Did you notice how I just “thanked them” by giving them some “free advertising?”

Gifts can also be a great way to get free advertising. @vlad made my logo for me, and specifically told me that I did not need to give credit for it. However, since I can choose to, @vlad now gets mentioned at the end of almost every post I make. As a quirky parody of “YOUR NAME IN LIGHTS”, I started putting “YOUR NAME IN PEPPERS” for some various steemians, some by request, and some just for fun. I have already seen three different users display my gift at the end of their posts, and some even mentioned my name. Of course, this was not the purpose, I was just having fun and showing appreciation, but getting mentioned is an additional benefit that may happen in cases like this.

Did you know that you can also give free advertising? Once of the best ways shared so far was the YOUR NAME IN LIGHTS idea by @williambanks that I mentioned in the last paragraph. Several steemit authors have already been dedicating a post to spotlight another steemian, usually one with less followers and a lower reputation than they have. I haven't personally done this one yet, but I've been considering some options.

CHAT

I’m papa-pepper on https://steemit.chat and I talk to quite a few steemians on there. The private chat is a great way to talk more in private and discuss things a little more openly for those who wouldn’t say certain things on the blockchain.

The open chat rooms are a great place to either promote your posts, which increases visibility, or meet new friends. As you interact with “strangers” in a chat room, your personality comes out and those who find you interesting may want to check out your blog. I’ve met some great folks in the chatroom, and some of us now frequently upvote eachothers posts, not to mention that we now follow one another.

Check out the chat and meet some people. Share what you’re up to and see who’s interested.

GRAMMAR AND SPELLING

I realize that many people have different levels of linguistic skill and grammatical capabilities. Also, many people on steemit do not speak English as their primary language. Since we all can and will make mistakes, let’s cut one another some slack. There is no excuse for not at least spell-checking and attempting to proof-read, so let’s still make sure that we are trying to produce professional posts.

The only other advice that I can offer is summed up in the song “WORD CRIMES” by Weird Al Yankovic.
Here is the Video Link in case you are unfamiliar. I would seriously suggest that you take the time to listen to it, as it is perhaps his best song ever, and contains extremely applicable advice for anyone attempting to write or blog.

Watch and Learn - This is an Incredibly Educational Video

It's less that 4 minutes long and well worth the time.

As always, I'm @papa-pepper, and here's the proof:

proof-of-followers

MY NAME IN PEPPERS

(I didn't have any lights....)

Awesome Handcrafted @papa-pepper logo kindly donated by @vlad - Thank you!!

Thank you for this post. I have been looking for ways to grow my following here and this is the best post I have read on it so far.

Great posts like this (and your other wide variety of posts of course) are why I'm following you papa-pepper. Congrats on hitting the milestone!

Edit: Maybe you disagree, but I think one of the most effective way to gain followers is to simply remind people that they can follow you at the end of your posts. I started doing this before there was a feed or home page, knowing that it would probably be a valuable reminder for the future. I don't know how many followers I had before the feed was implemented, but it may have been over 100.

I use a sort of standard format for the end of my posts, but switch it up depending on the content. For food posts, I've lately started saying "If this post made you hungry in a good way..." For guide posts I have written "If you found this helpful..." etc.

Yeah I noticed that a lot of people do that now, but I never have yet...
Could I have picked up more by doing it? Probably.
When they implemented letting us see the number of followers, I was blown a way to have 50, because I knew of about 5. Now, I gain 100 some weeks, which is crazy, and another 13 or so overnight.
I think that you are right though, if you remind people that they can follow you, more will probably choose to click "follow" right then.

Great point @pfunk
I've been including a footer since I've been blogging - even before Steemit. It reminds people that there's more than that particular article. :)

I also added a follow link to the homepage before we had the feature. @pfunk's advice is straight on. it's never too late @papa-pepper to this. don't fall trap to the consistency bias, please :)

Ok, maybe I'll remind people that they can follow me...

Thanks for the encouragement @cristi!

Wow you hit the great milestone!
congratulation!
I just can't understand why you get only 83 upvotes (for this time)

That's because you can only vote once...
Thanks @smailer!

Congratulations on 400!

And great advice on the community . Also, very nice pepper placement

You were the one I was talking about when I mentioned the "new guy" in GREETING.

Also, I just bumped your rep up to a 27 from 25.

@papa-pepper suggests following @sawgunner13 and welcoming him into the commuity!

No way! I can assure you it definitely was encouraging . I'm glad there are people like you in the community here to champion us little guys

Thanks man.
If I find out I have a little power, I choose to use it for good.
That "30" looks good after your name!

Oops, I made it a "31" instead.

Wow, that is a lot of good info, especially for a newbie like myself. Your tips are really going to make a difference for a lot of peoples success here. Thank you,

Excellent!

That's part of why I do what I do, to try to help others succeed.

Thanks!

Any steemit newbie really needs to bookmark this post because it's solid information and practices that I've been implementing from the beginning. I'm almost 2 months in and my following has increased to over 180! 10 new followers overnight.
I also want to make a note about commenting... It's an observation really. If you are a serial upvoter and don't comment, your voting power is decreased. but comments help offset the vote power drain.
Also, if you find a newbie commenting similarly on multiple posts, sometimes they just don't know that it's spammy. Give them a quick message, mentor, don't harass them. If they continue on the same path, then take it to the next step. A lot of people are blogging for the first time in their life so a little levity may be called for. :)

EXCELLENT EXCELLENT ADVISE @merej99!

Very good points about comments, upvotes, and newcomers!

Your Name in Peppers! (I just like to see that!)

Tons of advice. You put so much effort in this post. I thought I knew it all by now :-( but then discovered some more ideas around contest and free advertising. Found it funny that you put a proof picture in your post since everyone can see your wallet....:-) Happy Steeming papa-pepper.
By the way congratulations to 400 followers. This is impressive. You are now Nr. 99 in the ranking on Steemit on most followers.

Thanks, and I'm glad you learned something.
@pfunk also suggested reminding people at the end of your post that they can follow you as another option.
The "proof" thing is a running gag anyway, so I'm glad that you laughed.

I made each image myself too, as far as workload goes.

As long as it helps some others, it'll pay off for me!

Hey, I missed that 99 thing earlier!

CRAZY!!!!!!!!

First of of all, thank you for sharing what you have learned and for helping us get more followers. I have seen your comments on a few people i follow and always liked them. Especially because many of them were related to include peppers! :) I have upvoted you for helping the rest to get more followers, and am following you. I need to check out the chat room, I am not familiar with it. I never thought of the competitions so i might try that out. Thank you!

Yeah, I really like the contests because not only could you win, but it gives you a great idea for another post which could earn some steem on its own even if you do not win the contest.

@matthewtiii had an entry post hit over $200 total, plus, he may even win the contest.

Thanks for your reply. I'll do my 500 follower post tomorrow for some more advice.

Well done. FULL RESPECT from the @mindhunter !

Thank you, I appreciate that.

"To the 500 we go! I would walk 500 miles....etc etc..."

"we go"?
Good, let's go get us each 500 followers.
I'll get you one more right now.

Ok, you're up to 141 now.

I wish I could pass you some of my posts - comin' up on 3000 soon! If we could swap posts and followers we could take over Steemit! "MWHAAAAAAAAA!" (Dr Evil!)

p.s. have you noted how many I FOLLOW? ;) The same as @smooth - we are not followers :)

p.s. there is a typo in your article - see if you can spot it? ;)

Carrots para - "...you'll look like and idiot" !

Yeah, no one wants to follow an idiot, that's why people are having such a hard time with the upcoming US election.

Good catch @ancientofdays... I always seem to miss something. Thanks!

I proof read it a couple times... fresh eyes can help.
What did you notice?

postpromotion would be better as post promotion or with a dash post-promotion! Sorry - just being VERY anal! Bad @mindhunter as usual ! Jesting awa'!

Check out how it is spelled on the chat site.
I copied it exactly... because I was being meticulous.
Thanks though!

Thank you Papa, for this article. I'm new here and found you article to be very informative. I am a clown and am trying to bring humor to the Steem. I will try some of your suggestions...

Excellent - just be careful not to scare @nekromarinist.

He's (sort of) afraid of clowns... but he's working on it!

Thank you for this post, it sure is helpful to a minnow like me. You taught me how to hyperlink! Yesssssssssss. I have not used this type of blog platform before in my life, it took me a tutorial to figure out how to add a photo. And I was wondering about the link, and voila!

Funny you mention advertisement, that's how I found you today! Through your name being tagged in a post by @cryptoiskey let's see if I can do this...

YESSS!!!! It worked, thank you. :)

Oh yeah, Gotta love @cryptoiskey!

He's awesome and made this helpful post a while ago:

Posting Fundamentals - HOW TO BLOG

Thanks for the mentions mate:)

YOU deserve it!

Me too! I was trying to wrap my head around the HTML code and it gave me a headache LOL
@papa-pepper has shown an easy way! Thank you!

You are most welcome!

Your post is very encouraging. I am not a good writer but I would like to get help. What are the ways to reformat an article?

I am not sure what you mean by "reformat an article".

If you are speaking of styling with markdown check out this post from cryptoiskey. He walks through a lot of the options and has even provided a video for each section.

Just tell him Papa sent you!

Nice article, thanks. I'm only a few days on Steemit and have published about 20 posts now. I love it! I'll heed your advice and will practice my hyperlink to my blog HERE

Ah... it works! Haha, thanks. If you fancy checking out some material ranging from the weirdness of the moon to porn addiction and anarchy, check out my blog.

Upvote and follower duly earned, good work!

Yay!!! Grats papa, helping people always helps ourselves in the long run. Makes for a nice community as well :)

Toast to your success and thanks for your help !!

Cheers.....

Yes @majes!

Let's build this community, that's what this post is all about.

Helping out and interacting!

Thanks!

Hey, thank you for this information ... new here so it's nice to learn some of the underlying rules on Steemit.

Excellent.
I'm glad that I could be if help.

Very nice! Love your work. I think that a post like this which helps others, really shows commitment to the community.
Re-steemed. Was already following you :)

Thank you so much for that!

I guess you are one of my 503 followers now...

More advice to come tomorrow for my 500 post!

Hi @papa-pepper, lets make that 501 followers. Loved your post and resteemed, which I do not normally do much, as I like to see my own content in my feed :) The reason I resteemed your post is that I love what you are saying and I believe it can help a lot of people to get more followers. Chat soon

Excellent, and thank you.

I resteem very minimally too; only 2 on purpose so far.

I try to help and encourage, even with my STEEMICIDE post, and have a great idea fir my 500 follower post too!

Thanks again, @jacor!

I missed this when you put it out. Great post and very good for everyone to read. I just added this to my blog so all my followers can read this... (if they have not already) You have 167 up votes.. I wish there was a way for you to see how many of my followers up voted after sharing it? Maybe one day....

Thank you, and I wish that was a feature to. To see how many follow your link or reposting of it to the Post.

I'm glad this popped up in my feed again, as I missed it the first time; really first rate advice. Especially the part about commenting after reading, I have had a lot of comments that have completely missed the point of my articles, which of course, I ignore.

You've got another follower! :-D

Cg

I literally just hit 500 followers!

That was quick!

Thanks for the compliment and encouragement!

Just watched that weird Al video, LOL, it was awesome!

It really is some incredible stuff, plus applicable advice for all of us here on steemit!

Very good info and advice. Reading it makes it clearer why you are a rising star on Steemit! Good immagination, interaction, kindness, encouragement and.......GRAMMAR!

Why'd you have to bring my Gramma' into this?

What has she ever done to you?

Thank you @kus-knee!
Did you see my one on "Papa-Pepper investigates?"

Wow amazing, congratulations @papa-pepper!

Thank you @future24!

I even heard that I was in the top 100 for most followers!

Congrats for being one of the most grateful people on Steemit!
Have a look here ;)

Incredible... Is that another secret to my success?

Great work, I just linked that post in my new article HERE

Just some "free advertisement" for you because of your job well done!

Thanks a lot for that!

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ CONGRATULATIONS! WOW! 400!🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

A great milestone and a superb post and very helpful. You are one of my favorite steemians.
Keep it up. Also thanks for the mention. Carrots rock! Lol

Yeah, I think most of those followers came from a post some guy did about a breakfast sandwich that mentioned my name.

I figured mentioning him was the least that I could do.

The funny thing about was that he only mentioned bacon, and not carrots.

What is this world coming to?

Did you watch the music video?

Good job señor pepper. You're a blessing to Steemit. Congrats on the 400 mark and growing rep. You've earned it.

Thank you sir for your most kind words.

congrats, my friend! my art for you from all my heart

Well I owe a thank you to you and your wife for following along, thank you so much!

congratulations, you are so great!

Thanks for the very useful advice.

I hope that it helps you.
You're welcome!

Awesome mate.... Congrats:)

Looks like I got at least one of those followers because of you, so thanks man!

Carrots! I love carrots! Yeah, more carrots ;)

Congratulations on your milestone, it's well-deserved. I followed you right from the off because you came across as helpful, friendly and approachable.
Nice post, great advice, I already implement some of it in my own 'strategy for Steemit'.

Keep up the great work :)

Thank you so much for all those wonderful compliments!

Congratulations @papa-pepper on hitting 400 followers! With great information like this post contains it's understood why so many people like myself appreciate your content. Keep steeming my friend.
Its been fun entering your contests and even getting to judge one. That was fun and made this community feel more fun.

Thank you for that.

I certainly have been blessed here.
Thanks for your help being a judge too!

A very good post containing many good points. A lot of them I already do and I have noticed that it has improved my follower count.

I especially liked the bit about carrots, I love carrots. Carrots rawk. Steem on!!! ;0)

A lot of people seem to be mentioning carrots now. I might have to do a post just about carrots, and their potential health hazards of course!

Congratulations buddy!!!! Hope you hit 1000+ soon.

Wow, wouldn't that be something?

Love it Papa. Well deserved. Congrats!

Oh and some great nugs of truth in this post.

Thank you @jasonstaggers!

Keep up the quality posts yourself too!

This is what I needed. I've been posting articles for 2 weeks or so, one or two were noticed by the whales. I need to step my curation game. Thanks for everything!

I am glad that you were encouraged and got some useful information.

Persevere @slayer! - That's how you win!

Congratulations on your new milestone reached. On to 500! Oh and I like carrots too. Ya' know since you were talking about having 400 carrots and Weird Al and... wait... what were we talking about?

The post was about how Weird Al used carrots to springboard his career into international success and has now lasted for decades in the music industry. If we can use the carrot method in steemit, by mentioning them in our posts and in the chat rooms, we should be able to make steemit a full-time career that will last for decades.

Perhaps I should have summarized that at the end of the post @gregory-f!

Oh, I think you're just messing with me now.

Yeah, I knew you'd like it, as long as I didn't spill the beans!

Great information. Thank you for taking the time to spell out your advice. I will give your advise a try.

You're welcome!

I thought that it could be helpful for others to think about and maybe implement.

Obviously something worked for me!

Congratulations! You're doing a great job.

Congrats! Your content being great is also a large part of your success, glad I "avoided the rush" and found you early on.. just crossed 100 myself, it's a good feeling.

Excellent - Yes, consistent solid content and posts definitely help.
Personally, I like to give my followers something from Papa to look at everyday, and that may help too.
Thanks for the encouragement!

Thank you for the advice papa-pepper, I really appreciate your perspective!

Ah, you just reminded me that I should have mentioned using good and appropriate tags.
That definitely increases exposure.
I just try to help...
Are you on https://steemit.chat?
I wanted to ask you something...

Thanks @daveks!

I will go there now and check it out.

Great article :) I really did read it!

Thanks for the vote, encouragement, and reading it!
I had to read it too! (LOL)

Woot papa, 400 is awesome! Keep it up dood! Yay carrots, they're the tastiest health hazard

HAHA!
Yeah, 408 now... some weeks it goes up by 100!

I recently saw you raise a nice minnow's reputation score from 25 to about 31, single-handedly, after he talked about camping with the crickets. It was impressive, and I immediately clicked to follow.

For all I know I could have been the 400th! (Probably not, but a kid can dream.) Congrats!

Whether or not you were my 400th I cannot know for sure, but I guarantee that I was your 50th!

CONGRATULATIONS!

Hahaha! Pretty sick, thanks for following!! I'll try to live up to your greatest dreams.

And I like that you were helping the newcomers out, seems like a good use of your influence. Any newcomer who isn't, like, a troll or something is gonna be really misrepresented by the 25 rating, cool to help rush them along.

I thought it would be a quick boost!
Thanks @full-measure!

I noticed that although my votes have never been worth more than a cent on their own, I can make a decent impact on a newcomer's reputation, so I was doing some experiments yesterday. Eventually, I exhausted my power, but I think that those who I helped were encouraged.
Thanks for following... I've been up to a lot, as you can see from my blog history.
Feel free to check some of my other posts out and let me know what you think, you may have been 400, it happened last night!

Hi @papa-pepper ! I'm on steemit for 2 weeks now and love the opportunity to translate some of your posts in german. I'd like to start with this post... here it is: https://steemit.com/deutsch/@thomasheindl/400-follower-in-2-monaten-ein-paar-tips-wie-ihr-das-schaffen-koennt

Thanks for all the tips from a newbie to steemit!
