How to assemble a jigsaw puzzle

I have just finished assembling the jigsaw puzzle of "Monna Daisy" that I bought in Croatia during a trip for the price of 10 Kuna, the equivalent of about 1.50 €.

Before opening the box, containing his pieces, I choose the work plan: if it is a small puzzle, I buy the frame of the dimensions indicated on the box and use its wooden part as a work surface, if is big I started it directly on the table.

Identified the appropriate plan, I extract from the envelope and put all the pieces on it and start to select them after turning them all face up. I put together the pieces that have a smooth side and that form the edge, the remaining pieces I divide it into groups of the same color, but in the case of a monochromatic image I divide it according to a common caratteristic.

Once this is done, I start to insert the pieces that form the sides and once I have finished I choose a starting point and proceed with the assembly, always keeping the image of the puzzle in front of me.

After a few hours of work and fun, it begins to take shape.

To speed up the assembly I joined the pieces of the same color, forming separate groups that I will later connected to each other.

Some time ago, I made that of the Vitruvian Man which have thousand pieces. Being a monochromatic design, I divided the pieces in groups with written, hair, lines and finally the empty ones. Once the sides was created I started to fit the pieces with the writing both on top and bottom. Going to attempts and starting from the bottom I managed after about a week to fit all the pieces.

Another puzzle that I have assembled is that of the Ancient Globe of 5000 pieces. Being 153x101 centimeters I created the sides on the floor and divided it in half, then I placed it on the table and started its assembly. Finished the first part, I placed the second one above the previous one and I continued in the same way.

Before framing it, I had passed the appropriate glue over it and wait until is dry respecting the times indicated on the package and at he end fixing the glass in the frame.
