Back Pain Goes Away When Your Legs Go Up The Wall!

When your legs feel tired, and your feet are sore, it feels so good so lie on the floor with your seat bones near the wall and put your legs up the wall. It is good for you too. It relaxes your body, helps your digestion, and gives your heart a rest from the strain of pumping blood all the way from your feet up to your heart. It is a simple way for you to ease your stress at home.

Ease Back Pain

It feels good on your spine when you lay on your back too. The force of gravity pulls your stomach down to the floor and gives your back a much needed stretch, especially if you sit in a chair all day at work. You notice that your breathing starts slowing down after your legs are up the wall for about 10 minutes, and if you can keep your legs up for about 20 minutes, it has similar effects to an inversion in yoga. Inversions are the antidote to back and spinal pain.

Om Mantra

If you have something for your eyes to focus on, like a giant om wall hanging, it helps to make you conscious of your breathing, as you breathe in fresh air through your nose and expand your diaphragm in a deep breath, you feel the breath travelling to every cell of your body. As you exhale with an om sound you feel a spiritual connection to your breath. You share the air with the entire universe, and as you exhale through your mouth, you remove any stale air out of your lungs, and feel refreshed throughout your body.

Air, Water, Fire, and Wind Elements

It is easy to balance the four elements of the earth in your environment, and help you feel connected to the power of nature. A diffuser that pumps out steam sounds like the ocean, and a few drops of lavender essential oil added to the water adds a pleasant fragrance to the air. A nearby jasmine incense stick burning adds the fire element and more natural scent. A fan and an air purifier provide the air element of wind. You have created your own relaxing home spa with a few simple items in your home environment.

A Feast For The Senses

A Himalayan salt lamp cleanses the moisture in the air and releases negative ions which help clear your breathing, and scented wax melted in a plug in adds a warm soothing coconut smell. This is in addition to relaxing yoga music and soft lights creates a relaxing ambience.

A Relaxing Easy Workout

If you can last for 20 minutes with your legs up the wall, your body will start to feel warm, as your muscles are stretching in your legs and back, as if you are doing a workout, and your hips will feel more limber with all the blood and oxygen flowing to them.

It is a great way to relax after a long day on your feet, and helps you feel peaceful before you go to bed so you will get a restful sleep. You are getting sleepy now!

I've been doing this stretch for about a year now and I can attest to its effectiveness. It's the last stretch in my morning routine and it makes the most difference. I also like to cross my legs for a bit before I get up, I usually feel really calm and relaxed in this position and I've even fallen asleep like that.

hmmm....maybe for a certain amount of time this would be beneficial, but after which it would begin affecting blood flow...

Oh no, I don't fall asleep with my legs up! That would definitely end poorly. I'm talking about sitting cross legged against the way.

Yes, I cross my legs part way through as well and use my hands on my thighs for support. So good for your hip mobility.

Yes, my goal is 20 minutes if time allows, but I have never done it for longer.

Yes it starts your day off with a good vibe if you do it in the mornings! Thanks for sharing

That's a good stretch .. nothing worse than back pain...we have a salt lamp... Also wondering if you made that tie dye with the Om on it...very nice.. :)

The salt lamp adds to the sights sounds smells and touch, and even the taste! haha. I imagined a red wall hanging that would help me be mindful and then saw this at the store and bought it. It has so many interesting shapes and colors to look at.

I believe the salt lamp gives off negative ions which is healing.. they are nice.

Yes, the salt lamp helps the air. :)

I have learnt this and many other things from a healer, the "my miracle man" in Bali. He heals everything ......

That is great confirmation. Thanks. Intrigued to hear about this Bali man. Please tell me more!

He helped me healing heavy issues with nerve pains after a couple of accidents damaging my knee. It took him 6 months / 2 times a week and I could walk again.

That's amazing. Did you go to him in Bali for the treatments?

A traditional simple man who's masters were from Java and also from Japan who came to my home. I lived in Bali for 16 years.

So Much yes to all of this! I keep Himalayan Salt lamps in every room as well as Selenite lamps and tall amethyst geodes throughout the home for wellbeing and balance. I cured my sciatic pain with yoga and I find any exercise which involves my legs is. Rings comfort to my entire body.
Great post! Lovely Sunday to you🌱

Thanks so much. We can really influence our health with our environment. I will have to check out selenite lamps and amethyst geodes, sounds like my kinda stuff! haha.

Definitely! The geodes are cheaper at gem shows, expect to pay a little over 300 for the nice ones. My selenite lamps I purchased at Amazon and eBay, they are super affordable 💎

Oh cool, there is a rock and gem store in my town.. I will ask. Thanks.
