He also tells about a family drama in which the boy cannot communicate by means of speech, which is why other children tease him. In addition, at home, his parents do not get along, which also stresses him.
I also live with autism spectrum disorder. I had similar problems, when I was a kid. I have not lost the ability to speak, but often I still could not communicate by speaking. Or not properly. And I often did not even wanted to. Many of ny schoolmates and my classmates bullied me. Both in elementary school and in middle school. I finished middle school as a private student. There were big conflicts between my mother and my step-father. At one point, we decided to leave him. I grew up with my mother and with my brother. I successfully improved over time, but I still not communicate with others that much, and I do not even want to.
At least a part of the story of this movie was probably inspired by true events. Or if it is not, then it is just/only a weirdly accurate similarity to my (and probably some other people's) life.
