In this post I want to discuss about fruits again that is watermelon fruit.


Watermelon or (Citrullus lanatus) is a vine that originates from the desert half of southern Africa. The flesh is red and contains 90% water. Watermelon contains water, calories, protein, carbohydrates, fiber, minerals, and various vitamins.

Watermelon contains no fat or cholesterol. The many vitamins contained in watermelon are vitamins A, B and C. The watermelon is rich in potassium, iron, magnesium, and phosphate. In addition, many contain anti-oxidant lycopene, beta-carotene, lutein, zeaxanthin, and cryptoxanthin, enzymes, organic acids, and natural sugars.

Benefits of watermelon fruit:

  • Fight free radicals.

Anti-oxidant lycopene in watermelon works against cancer-free free radicals, heart disease, arthritis, asthma, stroke, and skin damage. Watermelon is a fruit that has the highest levels of lycopene among all types of fruit.

  • Prevents dehydration.

High water and electrolyte content in watermelon can help replace body fluids.

  • Detoxified.

Watermelon works to increase the production of urine so it can help remove various toxins in the body, cleanse the liver and kidneys, and reduce levels of uric acid in the blood.

  • Boost the immune system.

through the content of vitamin C, lycopene, and other anti-oxidants.

  • Maintain eye health.

through the lycopene component and vitamin A.

  • Maintain healthy blood vessels and heart.
    Potassium, magnesium, aminoclimulline acid in watermelon can help lower blood pressure and heart function. Lycopene, beta-carotene, and vitamin C can also lower cholesterol thereby decreasing the risk of heart disease.

Watermelon can also be eaten directly or used as a juice to drink when breaking the fast. Keep your friends in mind that watermelon storage in the refrigerator over the long term can change the nutritional content and taste of watermelon. However, to ensure good taste and nutrition, watermelon should be cooled 30 minutes before cutting. The short cooling process can shrink the cells to the fruit so that the nutrient content stays inside the cell and does not come out when cut.
