we grew up really frugal in rural central texas, and i never got 'used' to things that a lot of people take for granted - they were always a luxury to me. like having the grocery store RIGHT THERE. i'll still wait until i have ten or more things on my list before i pop in. so yeah, your life experiences play a HUGE part in how well you'll adapt.

i do second @walkerland's comment, too - if at all possible, check out the area or community before diving in. i endured 8 years with an awful neighbor who made being outside intolerable!!!
