RE: Homesteaders & Preppers on steemit - visiting everyone on the list to say hello and leave a little gift

Very sociological! I'll look forward to the results - will be constructing a spreadsheet? If so you may as well 'enhance' the whole project and record info about country, Vests.... well you know, the more the merrier... it'd make for a great infographic if you ran it through Tableau.

I'm sure it's possible to automate all of this somehow too, just beyond my coding capability, which is just about 0 btw!

I'm going to do something similar to this but for 'Brits in the SE' and for 'sociological thinkers' too. Medium to long term projects.

Sort:

Yes I do gather some extra data about country etc, but it takes time to do it manually.

At some point it might be worth automating but for the moment this is a one off. Progress depends on my time and my voting power available.

Good luck with the Brits in the SE - I use to be over that way originally. Are there many steemians around there?

I know of two (outside of London, I don't count London) - I'm going to do a shout out at some point - but not until I've got a few more decent posts under my belt - I've got a bit too obsessed with understanding how this site works over the XMAS post and need to stop just posting posts on steemit which are about steemit....

Do you mind if I follow in your footsteps and repeat your project btw - it's such a good idea! I'll give you full credit in every post of course! And it would be a good test of reliability.

I might knock up a future post about the whole sociological methodological side of things - it's extremely interesting - qualitative analysis versus purely quants!

P.S. I don't imagine starting off was that productive, if your 'a' followers look like mine...
