in addition, part of the reason Permaculture hasnt really worked for many is that they do look for the cheap, remote, far away land. and there are problems with that.
I would reccomened, unless youre in it for the challenge..
save your money and buy good fertile farmland. you dont need so much of it to provide for your needs and you can more rapidly elevate its production
if you buy a corn field that has half decent yields, then it'll support many types of ventures using agroforestry and animal husbandry. you are more likely to succeed
