Today is a happy day for my people!
The Jacob's Sheep that we picked up a while ago had another baby today. To be able to purchase such sheep for $100 each is pretty good anyway, but when some of them are pregnant, it is all the better. Here is the video that Pinkie-Pepper and I shot this morning when we saw that we had a new one!
VIDEO: WE JUST FOUND OUR NEW LAMB!
THOSE CUTE BABY PHOTOS FROM THE FIRST DAY
Here are a few photos that I took when we first found the new lamb. At the moment, I haven't even sexed it to see if it a male or female. Monster Truck and Sweet-Pepper say that they think it is a female, but we will see. So far, we are just happy that it is alive and well, and that its mama is taking good care of it.
As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:

Happy and well. That is what we are looking for.
I guess it happened last night.
Keep on steemin'
Must have happened last night or early this morning. I'm just glad that it went well. Thanks man!
I'm glad they're happy that he's alive and well, and that his mother is taking good care of him.
Us too! Thank you @salomonca!
WoW.... that really is a cute baby lamb.
Also, Good job with the photographs, but You always tend to take very good photographs.
Quick Question... when a lamb has black markings around the eye... why is that preferred ?
Congrats to You and hope all the other Peppers are doing well.
Cheers !!
The markings around the eyes are preferred because there is a breed standard. The sire of this heard doesn't have the black markings around the eyes or the muzzle, and he also has the white colored horn's, which is throwing off the genetics of this flock. I'm going to swap him out this year and allow a true sire to breed the flock this fall so next spring the kids should be more in line with what the Jacobs sheep breed is supposed to look like.
Not all the words are accurate and that part above, but it was the talk to text.
Thank You Papa for taking the time to explain...
Cheers !!
No problem! Thank you for asking!
sooooo nice!! :-))
Really nice indeed! Thank you @mikelffm!
We have looked at this sheep. How do you think they compare to boer and kiko breed goats? Are they good with the high heats? Have you had any of them need their horns cut so they don't curl back down into their face? Thanks for the video.
These are good, and might be neck and neck with Kikos. If the genetics are good, the horns should grow in better directions. The plus to these would be they won't jump as high as a goat, but the plus to Boers or Kikos is no shearing in the spring.
Yes shearing is not something I have wanted to deal with yet. I have looked at sheep that shed since I am in a hot area. Thanks for the response and for the article information.
Adorable lambs and I'm glad that in a few cases, you ended up getting a 2fer (ewe & lamb).
Gotta love the 2fers!
You melted me with those baby lamb photos! 🙂

Wow, so happy for you, it's so cute. More animals in the homestead.
Great ..
Thank you! We were happy to see it!
Awwwwww....its such a pleasant moment and joyful time to see new babies.
A new lamb is born, happy for you.
The amazing thing i usually observe is that the mother gets busy leaking the amniotic fluid of the new lamb. Nature is just too wonderful.
Congratulations @papa-pepper, you deserve more better things to come because your passion and dedication to homesteading is really fascinating and motivational.
The sky is just your stepping stone.
Congratulations once more.
A new baby is added to your flock, more money more responsibility, but i am very sure you are equal to the task including my dear little peppers.
We are all very happy about it and excited to see what happens next.
Congrats, man! That's getting your money's worth. :)
It really is! I
That is so cute, to pretty to be a male or maybe not :)
Woooh the lamb are strong and healthy weldon papa-pepper you are good in this
Wow, you really aren't kidding around. How many more are there to be had, potentially? You made a really good bargain and when you do have better rams your stock will improve quickly so the more you have the better. Congratulations, keep them coming if you can.
So adorable.
This is a very happy day.
Congratulations Pepper family!
my favourite
Wow those lambs are multiplying like rabbits. Very cute!

Awwww so nice an addition to the family. Congratulations. Please what is the new born going to be called?
Hola @papa-pepper, hermoso cordero bebè, siempre hay felicidad cuando llega un nuevo integrante, todos son lindos y están bien cuidados, saludos
Woot! Congrats on the new lamb!
Thank you!
How I wish I can have 1.. Smile. So cute.
Always nice to see your farm with new life and birth of an animals which you depend so much on them for many reasons.
I remember of our dairy and beef farm I would see a calf being born and surviving, it was exciting moment because our farm gained another generation of live stock to support us in milk or beef.
Good to see your prosperity of livestocks.
That's right! That next generation is important!
Your posts are trending too cute. Bunnies and now a lamb. I remember the Bible story of how Jacob came out well with spotted sheep from Laban his father-in-law. I didn't know that they continue to name a breed of sheep after that event.
They did. although some dispute whether these are really decedents of those. All I know it that's what they call them, and they are spotted.
So cute! How big is the flock now?
11 Adults and 3 lambs of this kind.
beautiful and nice lamb @papa-pepper
Awe! We don't have any sheep on our farm yet, but yours is absolutely adorable!
Thank you. We are very pleased with them!
So adorable. What a nice surprise.
Interesting how all their horns come in. Does one of them have 4 horns? One of them looks like a unicorn :)
Yup, a few have four horns and one is a unicorn!
So so so CUTE!
We agree! (and we love it!)
Aaaahw this very cute 😂 this is a nice photo and a good blog. I've always loved farm animals. Thanks for sharing this :)
That's a big baby for mama sheep to birth. Adorable baby.
Yup, it's a good-sized lamb for sure. As big as some children to be honest.
Spring has come to the @papa-pepper homestead! Love this little new one with the black around the eyes. So cute. I think you got a really good deal on these sheep!
I really did get a good deal in so many ways! We are really enjoying them!
congratulations again for you @papa-pepper, now your sheep has grown again.
hopefully everything will grow even more.
Mother nature is a marvellous person, left alone and see what she can produce. It is great there were no side issues, which can destroy sleep.
You will soon have a cleared woodland with all the mobile lawn mowers going.
LOL!
Wow, some of the sheep got funny growing horns. Looks like the horns grow in their face. The little ones are so cute, we have sheeps and goats roaming the island with the babies sometimes born on the street.
Cool! I'd love to see random goats or sheep wandering around.
Hello friend, since that purchase of kids have already been born 2 right? I think it was a very good investment, you have a new grandson or granddaughter :)... another thing I'd like to know how is the mother with her little one?...something else? is jealous??
Excuse my English use translator
What is it with you and baby animals. It's like your farm breeds steemit photos :) Super cute.
March has really been good to you, Papa. Well done. Congratulations sir.
I'm happy for you and congrats on the new born baby lamb
Your pics make me feel like moving into the woods, going off the grid and building my own sustainable home with cute animals and a warm cozy cottage... one can dream!
