Day 741 (Daily Post)

in #homesteading6 years ago

Day 741. It has been pretty windy here today but at least it has not been all that cold outside. Tonight is going to stay above freezing as well so that is a nice change from how the weather has been of late. I have been thinking a lot about how Spring is not all that far away but I think that is rather relative to how I look at the passage of time more than anything else. Keeping track of the days (as I have been all these days since my arrival here) has sort of skewed my perception of time passing in such a way that long increments of it seem short. I like that change in perspective and think it is kind of novel how malleable such perceptions can be given the 'right conditions'. All that stuff aside what I am looking forward to most about the Spring is simple things like mowing the grass, weedeating and generally just being out in the sun more and feeling exhausted each day by my physical exertions. Anyway nothing to really report here other than that I am glad to finally not be freezing my ass off all winter and getting to unwind a little bit. Have a good evening or something and I will undoubtedly do the same.

Note: As some of you know I have been making these 'Daily Post' on another platform ever since I began my stay at this old farm seven hundred and forty-one days ago. Ever since I began using Steemit I have considered posting them here as well but have been hesitant to do so because the content of them varies and thus it is difficult to tag as 'one thing or another' and they do not always directly relate to homesteading, off grid living or whatever. I also type them out in a notepad App on an Android phone and post them as a 'wall of text' instead of breaking them into paragraphs because the platform that I copy and paste them to formats them into a 'wall of text' even if I break them into paragraphs. I am not going to correctly format them and have grown to enjoy their rambling nature. So this is sort of a test and I appreciate any feedback that folks may have.

We were much warmer here today too. It's nice to have a break and let the toes thaw out a little.
