Random things on our very young homestead :)

Good morning all!!!

Since we have been sleeping in our motorhome while awaiting the arrival of a 16' x 36' portable building/ cabin that we can make into a home, we enjoy taking a break only very occasionally and staying in a motel room in town.
The kids LOVE this as they have more room to strech out and we will sometimes even order in a pizza! Pizza + extra wrestling space = very happy kiddos!! Who new?!! ;D

So anyway, while we are in town, I like to take advantage of having internet!! I was hoping that after starting this account that I could post often and regularly, but I'm finding that because of our lack of internet and phone signal, this is not the case. So..I'll do what I can, and since we find ourselves at the hotel once again this morning...here's my next post!! Pictures of some things we have gotten done around the homestead 😊

So here is the building site. You can see the footers where the blocks will lay.

Still the building site, but with a view of the wood shed we all built. Unfortunately I lost the pictures of that build on an old phone :/

Here is the chicken coop / shed. It's an 8' x 16' building with a dividing wall. The shed was a must for storage after moving here! I'll show inside pics in a future post :)

This is our outdoor kitchen. It was a quick thing we threw together but has been a life saver! Scott fashioned a makeshift dish washing sink which has worked very well! I love how the screen keeps the flies out, mostly.


Last but not least, the outdoor privy and a shot of inside the outdoor shower. This was also a quick build, so it's not the prettiest thing, but it does it's job well! So far we're using the humanure composting method, and it is working out fine for our family of 6.

So that's it for this post. I'm always open to questions and suggestions. I'll update as often as I can get some internet, and a little uninterrupted time ;)
