Got some work done in the Chinampa. Had a surprise waiting for me when I got in there to look around. Let me know where you think the minnows came from.

Also if you have some good ideas on some companion plants to plant with the elderberries that would be great to know as well.

Check my post about companion plant bundles for fruit trees. Anything to help attract pollinators, preditary insects, mulch the soil, and mine deep nutrients onto the surface.

This looks really interesting.

I did not know it was a Chinampa. It was quite educational to get to your post. I learned something new. It's what I like the most about seeing different profiles. You never know what you are going to find.

Great to see it coming along, I thought I had missed the updates for this project. It's looking good! Love the idea of this technique definitely one for the book. As for the fish who knows probably the run off i'd go for. Maybe birds dropped them off like pelicans drop of babies 💯🐒

if I can give you a small hint, is it possible to consider creating your videos a bit shorter ? I am a gardener whos spending more than a half year "in the grass" so I am absolutely not intending to insult you or your knowledge, just suggesting cutting unneeded words or sentences, because in total we could save like few minutes (sorry). anyway, honestly I have never heard about chinampas, but since now I feel like an amateur with basic knowledge. good, valuable evening. ;)

peace !

Such a lovely video you got in there and it always feels awesome when one gets back to the farm to continue the good work he has started. I really enjoy every second of your video and you might see more surprises soon on your next visit. Great work and keep the farming spirit up

Sorry to hear about so much rain, it can be frustrating at times when you have work to do and can't do any because all is wet outside.
Looks like you're on the right track. Leaving the grass to act as a wall. Roots are essential to protect the soil for going downwards. Also, using natural fertilizer produced by ducks is a great idea. Elderberry!!! I love it! We have some in the garden and also used to collect flowers for tea.
Keep up the good work!
