Lavender and orange sky at sunrise

Friday morning was the usual Chaos Friday. I got my post up and cleaned up the kitchen. I got the milk order done and my helper friend arrived at 8AM. He started bringing in wood while I cleaned up the kitchen. I had tried to get an appointment for the tooth but there was nothing until next Thursday.

Then next important job was to get the house plants watered. I had started it while he finished bringing in wood and he helped me finish them.

I got the linens, except the stockings which hadn’t dried, packed away and we went upstairs to play Tetris. I had decided to put the 2 big boxes of Christmas lights for the tree in the attic. So that gave us a bit more leeway in the store room. We got it all in, with organization, and room to spare. I’ll find out how well we did next November…

He went out to do some shopping and I did a few small chores.

When he got back, we brought the feeders and seed inside and got them filled, along with the suet feeders. It was very cold outside, so we were trying to manage it with the least amount of outside time. He brought around the ladder and we got the rope strung up.

Then we got the feeders on with their squirrel baffles and pulled it up tight. I hope the bears are in hibernation because by the time we got inside and sat down for lunch, the rope had sagged. (Check out left and right top photos.)

DVDs put away1 crop Jan 2025.jpg

After lunch, I pulled out the VHS “All Creatures Great and Small” and then filled in the spot with help from my helper friend. This moved DVDs around and I inserted the new ones alphabetically as I moved them. Then I got all the Christmas one’s put away, and he took the VHS upstairs. I have no idea what I am going to do with all the VHS in the sewing room. There are a couple hundred I think.

Doesn’t the living room look nice with the sun coming in and all neatened up?

In the past we put the feeders up way earlier, in early December. But with the bears still about up until 2 weeks ago, I didn’t dare. It usually took the birds a day or so to find them. But not on Friday! It wasn’t 4 hours and they were all over them.

So now I have plenty of Bird TV out my dining room window.

I had PT in the afternoon and I was so tired I almost called and cancelled. The PT woman said she was glad I didn’t because the 2 before me hadn’t showed up! But I was so exhausted!

I kept the stoves going as it’s to be below 0F during the night and was in bed by 8PM.

On Saturday and Sunday, now all the Christmas is finished, I plan to lay out gardens and make seed orders. I am so far behind! Normally this is done at the end of November or early December. I hope I can get the seeds I want, being so late. Seed starting is March1!

Sort:

The birds are eating from the feeder, a very beautiful sight. You are a very kind person.

The room looks so nice. I donated all my VHS tapes a few years back to the library and they put them in their book sale and some into the library shelves. Mostly, people just do DVD now or streaming. Soon they will just do everything online. I had a box of 8 track tapes from my mom that no one wanted so I trashed them all. Sad.

Those damn bears.. lol

I love the pictures, I can feel the cold from my desk.

Oh, I hope not! You have wood heat!!!

Sometimes those bears can really be funny

You are really taking care of those hours plants, they look so beautiful.

I will love to read birds but sometimes, I ask myself if I can maintain it
Will that be possible

A very beautiful sunrise and I'm sure you must have made the most of it.
