Old East garden - Snow crocus March 2001

On Monday morning I was up at 5:30AM and had a very busy morning. I got my post up, fires going, laundry started, and some of the kitchen cleaned up.

Forsythia April 2001

I didn’t have anything to take photos of, so I’ve mined the very old files from 2001 and 2002 for garden and flower photos.

I collected all the stuff I’d need for exercise class and the appointment. But I wasn’t quite ready when my neighbor arrived to go to exercise class.

The class was moved to the 2nd floor of the town hall because the whole cellar floor is being replaced. Because we arrived a little bit later than normal, we weren’t able to get our usual chairs. Things were pretty much at 6’s & 7’s up there as we tried to get our bearings in a new place.

I managed to get changed during the break, do a few more exercises before leaving ¾ of the way through class. The office at the appointment was running very late and I didn’t get out until noon.

Quince in its original place at the end of the driveway April 2002

I was home just after 12:30PM and changed the laundry over and made lunch. I sat down for a while and watched a movie.

My brother came home about 3:30PM and took me to get Larry’s birthday dinners and a present. We filled the car up and came back. He headed out to work on his cars as it was an almost warm afternoon. I went back to my movie.

I got the masonry heater going around 2PM as it hadn’t gotten all the way to the needed temp in the night. It had clouded up and the outside temperatures were dropping.

Big garden the one year I tried to grow corn July 2002

I made an early supper and watched another movie. I’ve nearly gotten through all my Christmas movies on DVDs. In November I had been watching the movies on YouTube and not from my collection.

The old picnic table and sandbox by the fort July 2002

I went to bed by 8PM.

These last couple photos are of the area now covered by the Small garden. I still find the sandy area where the sandbox was when digging in the Small garden now. The picnic table became too rotted to use and my husband tore it down during construction in 2019. I miss it!

This was the original “Small” garden and it was my son’s garden when he was small. You can see how the trees have started to overhang it. We moved it to the area where the table and sandbox are in 2011. Then we put the cold frames behind it on the tree side.

On Tuesday my helper comes at 9:30AM and he has errands to run. I need UV protective glass for the Christmas card collage and he has other errands. I’m sort of thinking about spring cleaning the new island in the kitchen when he gets back. He also needs to help me water house plants. So we will see.

You had lots of lovely flowers in your garden. This inspires me to think about having pot plants with nice colourful flowers. The soil in my garden is not suitable for flimsy plants. Only hardy plants could thrive here! 🙀🙀

I appreciate your comments

The flowers in the garden were very beautiful, although these are very old photos. You grow flowers, very good. Amazing Photography

I am sure these flowers will bring back memories, very good memories, as beautiful and colorful as the flowers were.

Oh I was wondering how was possible all that flowers with such a cold! Old photos

These are very colorful flowers you had back then. You still have them, yes?

About half of them. The rose isn't doing so well and the catalpa was cut down for construction.

Oh good to know! I hope they flourish just as well.

These flowers looks so beautiful. They give the beauty of nature I must admit
