On Monday I went out at 5:30AM because it was to be cool all day and cloudy. I was determined to get Rows 4 & 5 done.
I got Row 4 amended and planted. Then I mulched it and raked the walkway.
I hadn’t finished cleaning out Row 5 so I had to do that. As I work both sides of the walkway as I go, that meant cleaning out half of Row 6 too. It was an awful mess.
Once I’d gotten that done, I amended Row 5 and planted. I don’t have all the plants I wanted for this garden so I made a lot of substitutions. There are more flowers than usual. I started to mulch this row but at 12:15 I ran out of gas, so I quit.

We got 5¼” of rain over the weekend. It knocked down a lot of my plants. The echinacea purpurea had a lot down in the walkway. I cut them down and filled both dehydrators with this pile.
Tuesday I will get out early as it’s to be wicked hot and humid again. I hope to finish the mulching of Row 5, then I have to mow the lawn. I hope to be done by 10AM before it gets too bad.
If it’s not too hot upstairs, and I’m not too wiped out, maybe I will get around to setting up my sewing room.
