Washer repair crop Oct. 2020.jpg

Back in September 2020 the washer died. My husband had started to repair it and was waiting for parts when he went into the hospital. It eventually got moved to the cellar as it was repairable and a mechanical washer vs electronic. I bought the only washer I could find during the early pandemic, an electronic one with no agitator. I hate it.

My contractor has fixed several mechanical washers and felt confident he could fix this one. The time has come.

So I spent the best part of 3 hours during the day looking up to see if I had made any reference to what was wrong with it, and to see what the parts were that had been ordered. If the parts came in, I don’t remember them and we’ve not found them in all the cleaning and organizing we’ve done since then.

I found the receipt for what had been ordered, but my husband hadn’t been sure that was the problem, as he’d fixed a couple weeks before and it had broken again.

So I found the exploded view of the agitator assembly and compiled a list of parts. Then I went to see if I could find info about the kit my husband had ordered 4 years ago. I think I found it but whether it will fix the problem, we’ll see.

My neighbor caught the crud going around so I found another ride to exercise class in the morning. That was really about all I could do, besides getting the laundry washed and dried and a load of dishes in the dishwasher.

I went to bed for a couple hours and when the contractor arrived at 3:30PM we moved the washer into the workshop. He got it cleaned up but that’s as far as he got.

Last week my brother was supposed to help me get the posts up and drilled but I was sick and it rained for 2 days. Now he’s dealing with my mom on hospice, so he won’t be able to help with this project.

So I asked the contractor to get the posts up and drilled and he did get that done before he left around 6PM.

On Tuesday the mulch hay guy is coming at 8AM to mow the pastures. I’m still trying to get authorization for getting my windows washed. I started on September 12th. Sigh… So I have to call about that, again.

My helper friend arrives at 9:30AM and I plan to harvest what’s in the Small garden and start cleaning it out to get the tarps down to catch all the acorns. He also has errands to run. So another busy day. I can’t believe it’s October 1 already!

I'm glad you are getting a lot of things done. Kudos to you.

Yes, October is already here upon us and here you are already preparing for another season.
Sorry about the washing machine, I hope it's quickly fixed.

I can’t wait to see that washer in action
Well done for the good job

I believe that the washer will be functional once again since you are bent on fixing it.

Gradually you are getting the job done

I strive to be as productive as you are, have a great day and can not wait to see the first clean clothes from the washer! ☺️👍🙏

I’m happy you want to repair the washer
I’m very sure that it will work well

It sounds like you wanted to repair the washer without a mechanic understanding it very well. If you learn to repair, you can do it easily
