Some Of What We Do On The Property

This is in front of the barn looking over to the junk. I don't like junk.
The photo above is after I had cleared the brush. I will show all of the process to you.

I cleaned up the brush in front of the barn. I put it in the burn pile.
See the old tractor and the weeds? The old truck is there next to it.

So I moved all the brush that had been piled up in front of the barn.

And I put them in the burn pile. We are waiting for rain.

We will have another big "bonfire" when the rain comes.

Oh, I cleaned up around the old tractor and the junk truck. It looks better now.

Now you know that I don't want them there. They have to be moved.
I don't like junk on my places. I like for everything to be neat and in order.

Let me show you what weeds and junk looks like. I didn't do that.
It is not my junk. Equipment should be kept in a barn or shed.

It takes money to build buildings.
That is why I try to trade. It is one way to try to get some money.

I have to finish trimming this tree. I now know what to do with some of the limbs.
20171020_150803.jpg

I finished trimming the tree. I have a big brush pile too.
20171020_153027.jpg
I will move it in the next post.
You know there is a "sink hole" near the property line. My wife suggested piling some
brush over the sink hole. That is a good idea. Many of the "ole timers" did that.
To keep the sink hole from spreading.

Finally I want to show you how the walnut trees had walnuts on them this year.
I know I had shown some of them before. It is too good to miss.
There are many walnut trees on the land.

The hickory trees were too little to have hickory nuts this year.

That finishes my work on the homestead for today. I will post more of the work
as the days roll on. The work never ends.
I really love clearing and cleaning up a place though.

I hope you will follow along with me in my journey of life. Steemit will record it
for us.

It will be a lot of information for anyone wanting to see what we do
with the land. It will take some years too.

Thank you for your support. Steemit is growing everyday. I like that.

Sort:

Keeping a tidy farm can be a heck of a lot of work, but once cleaned up, much easier to maintain and safer for both people and animals.

Good work!

@torquewrench
I like to see neat places. That is why Amish places are pictured in many art galleries.
The clean neat looking appearance. That is so appealing to me.
Thank you for your support.

Francis

it looks great I know there was a lot of work in that. but for myself I like working in wood and cutting wood if I'm not pushed to do it

@cowboyk
This is a good time of the year to be working outside. The temperatures are getting cooler and that helps a lot.
I don't like hot weather and the chiggers are really bad then too.
So, we take advantage of it now.

Francis

nice work.

@nazrulpolash
Thank you. I love to work on the land. It just gives me satisfaction to see something good accomplished.

Francis

A real worker, if I could give you a helping hand Francis!!!

@alextuteu
Thank you for being welling to help. Even if you cannot. The thought is accepted as being good.
We are doing what we can. I am not in a big hurry anyway.
As is said many times. The journey is the good part of accomplishment.

Francis

That looks like another truck I'm not familiar with, Francis! So that makes two Fords and one Dodge so far, right? And was that an old Massey Fergeuson tractor I saw? I use to operate one similar to that one on a peach orchard a few days back.

@bluelightbandit
Thank you for noticing. The blue truck is not mine. It is mostly junk at this stage.
The man that owned it was killed by a dump truck.
To get it away from his wife. While I was gone. Some decided to drag it to my place.
Whatever.
It will leave with the old tractor eventually. It just takes time to get done what
I want to do.
Some people don't mind junk on their place.
I am not one of those people. Ha

Francis

Good to keep things tidy and organised. It can be a mission sometimes but is very satisfying when its done, Keep on going :)

thank you for the tour of your property... I have to say.. we used to have an old Ford pickup like that too. Great work mule on the homestead!

Thank you for your kind comments. And thank you for visiting my Steemit blog.
I appreciate it.

You don't like junk? You wanna come to my homestead and help me? :D

I have SOOO much junk. The land's basically been left for 20 years or so and man, there is SO much clearing to do. But I do find it quite satisfying in the long run.

Looking forward to more updates. :)
