Seeing this today tells me almost 3 weeks till planting!! This is my rooting compound!!

We harvest in the full moon energy. I take cuttings of the new growth. I take a little from each tree. Willow grows relatively fast, but I never want to put the tree in distress. The animals rely on willow as a pain reliever. (We do to, natures tylenol...watch for it in upcoming apothecary blogs!)
Once I get home with my armful of branches, I cut them into 1 inch pieces. I put them into a rubbermaid tote, filled with water. Today it is raining, so I get free rain water!
I let it sit until planting time. I water all my seedlings, transplants, cuttings and seeds with this water. As I use it, I keep adding water, diluting as the plants take root and grow.
This willow has grown from the stems and water that I dump back into the bush. :) Its only taken 3 years to be this big!
Nature always find a way! Grateful for all she provides!
Ooh! So fun 💗 So willow water is a good rooting compound hey? Good to know! I was in the mountains yesterday the pussy willows were so fluffy! Especially in the areas where there were puddles! Oh nature, our good gracious mother!! Happy Day @earthmother! Peace ❤
It's so much better than the chemical rooting powder! I have used diluted apple cider vinegar before, and even spit! Lol
So many things to help us, we have just forgotten.
I have always loved pussy willows. Loved rooting them as a kid. I don't ever know what happened after that...lol
Have an awesome day!!!
Now I want to go willow hunting in my backyard :D But that will have to wait till its stops raining. I went out once today, need to dry my neck.
Thinking this will help me with my growing issues where things just seem to not want to grow for me at times.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom. And thank you mother earth for providing!
Lol!!! You were brave going out today! I am collecting water... its a damp cold day. Great day for crafts, cleaning and reading! Lol
Hope the willow water works for you! The kids would love to help make it i am sure!!
I couldn't go far back enough, snow is too deep :/
we got lots of soakers...lol we are wearing plastic bags in our boots today LOL
So do you use that water to water the seedlings before they begin to sprout? I have wondered what to use to assist them to sprout. Once they get up out of the ground I can see that you use this water.
I do use it on everything now that its made. I have a hard time telling willow and tag alders, so i have to wait till they bud to collect. I figure the sap is running bringing the medicines from the roots of the willow. I added a tbsp of cinnamon to the water a few years ago, to prevent dampening off... but i don't know if that made a difference. I haven't had that problem. But apparently it helps as well.
Sending huge love your way!
Well that is good to know. I will go make some now. I used it on my cuttings but not on my seeds. I will be using it in tandum with the Seaweed Foliar spray that I was given.
Thank you so much for such great information. Hugs to you.
