Ragtag Brand Logo Contest - And The Winner Is...

in #homesteading7 years ago (edited)

A week ago, I started a contest to design a Brand Logo for my Ragtag projects.

@mother2chicks sweetened the Prize Pool by 2 Steem. (Thanks for the added incentive. Hugs!)

After the payout on that post, the Final Tally comes to 1.075 SBD, plus 4 Steem, which will be sent to the Winner as soon as this post goes live.

Now, on to the main event and the two spectacular entries!

The first to complete the task was @pfeilerfam5.

The details are great!

I see the moon and stars cutouts from the firepit.

I also noticed the Ragtag Lettering is composed of the specific plants from the actual Garden. The colors of the peppers in the "R" are in order of ripeness. The "g" echoes the pop of color to bring a balance to the whole word. Nice touch!

When I saw mature cabbages and brussels spouts, I had to smile, because they're the only ones I'll get from last season's try. Score!

The font adds a touch of whimsy to the overall feel. Light and flow-y like the bean & pea runners.

Well done and thanks for the well thought out design!

The second entry came from Michelle at @slhomestead.

More impressive detail work!

The firepit, again, is a major focal point.

Also more whimsical fonts - the main one being reminiscent of 70's style posters. The secondary one - the Revved Up Ragtag sign - reminds me of a row marker to identify an expected crop.

I see buckets and a bin with accurate plants and coloring taken from the actual Garden, plus some of the harvest it produced.

Finally, I see Tinker in the middle, ready to work or eat (or both.)

Also, well done and thanks for the thoughtful design!

This is a hard choice, because both entries captured the feel and purpose of the projects. However, I can only choose one, so without further blathering, the Winner is...

Michelle at @slhomestead!

The deciding factor was the row marker sign for Revved Up Ragtag. It represents the expectation of future growth, whatever the current project happens to be. I'm not sure if that was the intended meaning, but it works for me. ;~D

Congratulations and your Winnings will be sent shortly.

As a consolation prize for the work invested in the runner up logo, I will be sending the SBD earnings from the second announcement post to @pfeilerfam5. It pays out in roughly two days.

Thanks for your entry!

Gardeners Badge created by @daddykirbs.

Love it! Goes perfectly with your blog!

They did a great job! Another amazing demonstration of the artistic chops roaming around.

Both tags are very creative colorful images that describe your rag tag garden. I would have a tough time choosing. 🐓🐓

They are! I wasn't expecting this level of creativity, but as usual, the folks here surpassed the mark. It definitely took some serious consideration to pick.

Aww, so glad you liked it! If you want any colors changed or any details added, let me know--I still have the original file and can change whatever. Thanks for a fun contest!

It's spot on and I've already included it in my closing 'bling', as well as crediting the artist. ;~P
Looks right at home next to the badge, too. Thanks for a job well done!

Those are creative! I love them both! What a tough decision to make!

I had to sleep on it, for sure. They both packed a lot into a small space! Love the level of attention paid to the subtle details and couldn't have asked for more.

Both amazingly creative and I love the way the colours pop! I think the one you chose will be a good compliment to the gardeners badge too.

I agree! Both artists have some serious skillz!

Good point on the compatibility, too, I forgot to mention that. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get them side by side instead of on top of one another. Lol!

Lol! Good luck with that bit, I can't help you out there! I'd probably copy them, paste them together in one picture and then upload that. I'm pretty sure that's not the professional way to do it though! 🤣

Thanks and that's my back up plan. I know there is a tricky bit of coding that will do it, but I haven't cracked it quite yet. I'll remember it better if I know how it works vs copy/paste - which is where I'm currently stuck. Just another puzzle...LOL!

Those were both great entries! It must have been a tough decision. Congrats to both artists for a job well done.

Having to choose a winner is one of the 'hazards' of running a contest. Usually, I wimp out and use upvote totals or rope someone else in. I couldn't delegate this one, so I at least tried to make it worth everyone's time & effort. I'm constantly amazed by the level of creative talent roaming around these parts!

The logos are very creative

They are! Lots of creative folks around here!

Thank you. I enjoyed working on that for you.

You did a great job and thanks again for entering!
