Late winter cleanup in the greenhouse

Hi dere, steemians, and welcome to da greenhouse, eh!

It was a fairly nice day today, above freezing and sunny, so I went out to the greenhouse to see how warm it was. It was about 75 in the greenhouse at about 2 PM or so. It didn't take me long to get distracted by stuff in the greenhouse, pretty soon I had a broom in my hand pushing dead leaves into a pile to pick them up. It's time for the early spring cleaning, because it's a mess out there! My little helper just wants access to the catnip plant...

I want to clean out the south east corner of the greenhouse to be able put my 100 gallon water tank into it for the coming summer's aquaponics experiment. I had to move 2 of the big dirt filled pots out of the way, and the saucers were still frozen in a bit. In case you're wondering, the aquarium doesn't hold water, the seals are bad in several spots along the bottom edges. I use it as a mini greenhouse for starting plants.

The heat gathering wall seems to be working pretty well, when the sun is shining, it gets warm to the touch, and it holds the heat for a while.

I have 4 plants in the greenhouse from last year that I'm watching to see if they're going to come back this spring. This is a catnip plant. I'm starting to see signs of life at the base of the plant.

A raspberry plant that grew in the self watering bucket last year. I think there was raspberry roots in the dirt I used to fill the bucket. It's starting to sprout new leaves at the tip of the cane now.

This is my strawberry hanging planter from last year and a mint plant that I transplanted last fall. I'm not yet seeing signs of life from either of these, but I have hopes for the strawberry plant.

One last picture, the mess in the back of the greenhouse, the storage and work space area.

If we keep getting these warm days, the frost should come out of the ground inside the greenhouse fairly soon. That will help to hold some heat in the greenhouse at night. Just having ground temperature warmth at night is helpful.
As the ground temperature warms up, the greenhouse becomes more usable for garden plants. Perhaps I'm just getting a bit anxious to get started this year... :-)

Well, that's all I have for this post, I hope you found it interesting!

I'm so ready for spring! I love your greenhouse ❤ can't wait to see what you get going in there.

Thank you!
One thing I'm planning on growing in there is watermelons, and I might try sweet potatoes also. The season is short for sweet potatoes here, being in the greenhouse will extend the season by a good month.

Nice greenhouse! Im playing that waiting game also for the temps to rise enough to start filling my greenhouse with plants. Happy growing 👍

Nice to see some little signs of life popping up! Looking forward to peeking over your shoulder again this season.

Plant a nug tree in dat dere green house eh :)

As soon as it warms up enough!

Lol nug tree!

Aaahh. Almost plantin time! Spring is springing and I am excited, although I doubt as excited as you!
