Dramatic changes coming! Im leaving this greedy, industrialized, materialistic world.

in #homestead7 years ago

I have been domesticated for far too long, working for the man, paying bills, punching the time clock, spending 40 plus hours a week living in a cubicle. All while away from my family, my kids, my dog, and my interest.

Here is my story, in a nut shell.

I am a biologist, but do very little on a daily basis, however my Biology degree has opened up a career path with a good income. That being said I hate having a career. I want to have a LIFE. A life outside, working with my on two hands, a garden, a real big garden, some live stock, chickens, a pond, to be surrounded, not by people, concrete, right angles, manicured lawns, but surrounded by my family and the wonderful natural world and all that it has to offer.

I have been cramming money away for years now and in the next 12 months or so I will be in a position to buy some property of my own somewhere in the Ozarks, 15-25 acres of pure bliss, a new life, a hard life filled with daily chores and the unexpected. A wonderful life. A life of meaning and reward, real rewards, not some bonus just to spend on junk that I don't need.

I'm not new to the outdoors, gardening, fishing, hunting, beekeeping, etc. I have been practicing my whole life, but still have so much to learn. I grew up in the midwest (Missouri) doing all of these things and still do. I have a garden, bee hives, a freezer full of venison and fish that was harvested and processed by me.

I have a few more things to set in order over the next several months before pulling the trigger, but it will happen. All of which I hope to share with you on Steemit.

Any encouragement or advise will be taken with the utmost thankfulness.
