Today's photo is foundational to our homestead...
No, seriously, I'm not being dramatic here.
It's a picture of the concrete being set around the posts on which our cabin will rest on. It's literally the cabin's foundation.
I wanted the kids to have a memory of the day that the foundations of our future home was being laid so I took a picture of all 3 of them after they wrote their names in the concrete.
Additionally, I wanted our names on the foundation of our home to be symbolic of what a home really is.
It's not 4 walls and a roof.
It's the individual members knit together in love that make a home.
Thanks for Reading!
Wow...that is really neat! Such a good idea.
Amen!
Congrats! Setting the foundation is such an important, exciting step! Also a great memory for the kids to be a part of :)
Well said.. it's the mindset that binds us together and makes a home.. your kids will definitely cherish this years later..
Oh! How wonderful! I am looking forward to laying the foundation of our future home. You guys are in such an exciting part of building a homestead.
Woohoo! Build that foundation! Git r done.
The way it should be! Names (and perhaps hand prints) in the corner stones of the foundation is a solid connection to the heart of the home!
Yes, handprints a plenty!
What? No HOA?
You will have to do another one with the date. Right by the front door to remind you each time you go in or out, so you can see where you started to get to where you are then [in the far future]. Strangely in a few years, you will have forgotten the exact date you started the foundations, too many other things on your mind probably, but it happens.
Great thinking. I have a few posts to go, so the date will be etched in it. Thanks.
Wow, that is so cool!
What a thing to tell their kids and grandkids, that their name is literally in the foundation of the cabin. History in the making...
Ill have to bank this idea in my memory in the event we ever get the opportunity to build our own house...
Thanks!
Very cool way to include them in the process.
What a good idea and something the little ones will never forget. Nice going.
