Today we took a quick day trip to one of the most beautiful places which just happens to be where I was raised! We still live in the same county but going from where we live back to the actual mountaintop is like going to a whole nother country. Instead of posting a ton of pictures on one post, I am going to do one post today with some of the pictures and the rest in a day or two.
Muddy Pond, Tennessee. Look it up. It's amazing. I know this picture looks like it's flat but you are on top of the mountain so you can look one direction and see nothing but sky then look the other direction and see only mountains. It's a small Mennonite community with a few stores where you can buy fresh bread and butter(I highly recommend this combo of sourdough and fresh butter), a handmade quilt or rocking chair, or maybe a new saddle. You can find lots of different goods for sale up here but the view is the big reason I go back to visit quite often!
(I have tried to get this picture the same size and it just wouldn't act right so it's just a little off haha)
After we bought some treats, we decided to make a stop down at the steel bridge. This is where a lot of people get baptized when the water is high enough but at the moment it's super low and the red clay mud is clearly visible in the water!
Selfie time:)
I am not really big on taking selfies but this background seemed to call for this picture! So this was part 1 of our field trip and I hope you enjoyed these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them:) Stay tuned for part 2!
