Hi! Any hormonal imbalance could cause melasma. Also the sun is also a potential culprit. Not sure how long ago you had your ovaries removed but the body can react to hormone issues for a long time. In my case I’d been off the pill for years yet it’s legacy still remained. The truth is that I don’t think anybody knows that much about melasma and why some people are so affected by it. I knew my trigger and this is what I love about homeopathy, it seeks to find everyone’s trigger and address that individually. This is why I did not mention the combination of remedies I used, as it’s doubtful it would work for someone else in the same way. We are all unique and our bodies just love to express that!

OK, excellent points! I have been ovaryless for 32 years, no replacement hormones for at least 15 years now. One doc would Rx them, the next doc would say "That will give you cancer" and take me off... a couple years of that and I decided to just let my body cope the best it could.
Ok, so there is a history of hormone therapy at some point in the past, it’s a possibility for sure. From a homeopathic perspective i would explore that, and also look at any other symptoms you may have (or have had)
Time is often irrelevant to the body, I feel. Stuff from years ago can affect us long after the event has passed. Physical and mental and emotional events take their toll.
