RE: Our Homeless Experience part 5: Losing My Best Friend.

in #homelessexperience7 years ago

Oh hickory!!! I can sooooo relate!! When my sister and I were packing and cleaning etc etc in the spring of last year, my wee kitty Emily, an orange Scottish fold mix, got scared and escaped through a dryer vent! She was always an inside kitty. Never out. I stayed as long as I could looking for her. Calling. The landlord made me leave without her. It tore me up. I can sooooo relate!! I'm so very very sorry!! I did everything you did to try n find her. Just when I figured she'd never turn up, almost 9 months later, my old neighbor took her to the shelter. She was super skinny with a huge abscess on her shoulder blade. She is alive, but not with me. I will tell the whole story in a future post. I can so so relate, and am so very sorry!!

Oh my gosh, what a terrible way to lose your kitty, what a heartless landlord! And the fact that nobody told you she'd been found?!

I'm so sorry that happened, both for you and your precious Emily. 😢

I'm fortunate in that being I have a history in volunteering in rescue, I was able to get her placed with a very good rescue, and I get pics of her periodically so I know she's loved and doing well. Ty tho. It was hard but knowing she's happy is a big relief.
