Why you should not #HODL?

in #hodl7 years ago (edited)

Worst advice ever is on the market crashing.

All losses are controlled and reduced.
Even if you are #HODLING, sell it when crash starts. You will lose less

You will have a smaller loss, but you will have more CRYPTO than you will ever be kilt

You had 12K Bought 1 BTC.
Crash started
You sold for 10K
Bought for 8K Now you have 1.2 BTC

When the price will be 13K You will have 1.2BTC worth 15600 USD which is 2.6K profit.
If the price goes down - you minimised loss

Sort:

i think is better to 50% hodl and 50% trade

It's okay if you know when to sell high and when to buy low. BUT...

Did you count how much your time costs when you're trading all the time?
How do you know if the price won't back to the previous level? TA? What if...?
What to do if your portfolio consists of ±10 cryptocurrencies plus you are able to exchange them in different exchanges?
Which is better to hold BTC or altcoins?

Of course, it's different if you're only on BTC.

Sum up all the q/a and you'll see the differences.

Also, everybody are smart to look at the history :) Good luck ;)
