JOINT ACCOUNT HAS MORE DISADVANTAGES THAN ADVANTAGE

I disagree with the opinion of couples having a joint account. First of all, what does joint account mean?
Joint account means same business deals or transactions done by two people base on agreement.

As humans we all have different opinions on couples having joint account but personally I disagree with couples having same account reasons being that at times the wife might see a particular item she likes either online or on her way but will have to inform her partner before she will be able to carry out any transaction they must have a mutual understanding. She also have the right to carry out any transaction but she notifying her partner before carrying out the transaction is a sign of respect she has for her husband.

Secondly both account holders are responsible for any debt that is incurred on the account, even if is only one account holder that incurred the debt.

Thirdly in some rare cases if the partner that is the husband which is the breadwinner of the family and the wife is someone who spends lavishly, there won't be savings in the joint account because she will definitely wants to buy anything she sees whether is necessary or not necessary.
In this case, the husband will be the only one working for the money instead of both partners.

In Africa especially Nigeria, Joint account usually brings about misunderstanding once the husband is no longer alive in some tribes. If the family members should get to know that their son which is the husband has a joint account with his wife and he falls sick and die, the wife won't have peace of mind cause the family members will ensure they collect every dim from her claiming is their son's money putting pressure on her.

Having joint account won't make the partner be at will to carry out transactions whenever he or she wants to.

In the case of having personal account you are at liberty to do what ever you wish with your source of income because no one receives the debit or credit alerts except the owner of the account.

But joint account, the couples received both the credit and debit alerts for that reason, some wives might want to hide some things from their husbands. For instance, the wife might want to send some money to her family and wouldn't want the husband to know just to avoid answering questions like where did she get the money from?, What is the money meant for? and so on. In a situation like this, she will prefer to keep the money safe outside with a friend or someone she trusts which might cause misunderstanding once the partner gets to know about it.

I so much believe in hard work which means if you work really hard to achieve some things in life, each time you see those achievements, there is this inner joy that comes with it because you worked really hard to get it and the glory will be given to you alone not you and your spouse.

So therefore, couples having joint account has both advantage and disadvantage. One thing about having joint account is that they always set a date aside to calculate the amount they've spent so far.
