Therefore I'm now starting a thread for Hong Kong Steemians to meet and greet, so that we can know and recognize each other!

Please feel free to comment and chit chat here! Either in English or Chinese will be welcome!

Hello every Hong Kong People! Nice to meet you all! I live in Hong Kong Island and I gradated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Steemit is a very nice place and wonderful place. It is a warm community! Let us follow each other and make Hong Kong great! Good luck!

May I give you a warm welcome! Differ from you, I live in Kowloon. Guess things matter a bit different over the harbour!

Steemit gives us a nice opprtunity to meet new people and learn new things that I really appreciate of!
Let's work together to build up the hong kong community of steemit, it would be fruitful in outcome for sure!

Hi my Hk fellows. It would be great if we can think about how to help this Hk group grow as a healthy community. Here on steemit we are inevitably representing Hong Kong. Let's keep up the good work! :)

Here's a warm welcome to you! Yeah for now the Steemit community is rather tiny and we have to work as a whole to progress and make acheivement!

I believe in some time, the community will grow bigger and there is much potential for Steemit to meet mainstream level!

Cool, proud to be part of Hong kong steemit community, i am experiencing so much from here. i hope more people will join so that we can each share the moments.

I am actively trying to engage and grow more to a bigger fish size so i could gain more steem power to help Hong Kong steemit community grow!!

Add oil together and steem on!!

Thank you for replying!

Glad you enjoy surfing in Steemit and you got satisfying experience here. I am sure that there will be more people joining the community when the platform is promoted further in the future!

Yeah trying is important for us if we want to grow from a tiny minnow to a larger size...maybe dolphin? I wish we the hk community can work and grow together! Cheers!

Hello i am also a fellow hong konger, but only two years ago, my wife would like to move to taiwan with my son and therefore i also need to quit my job to follow, so you guys may see alot of my posts are taiwan related but i still love hong kong :).

Taiwan is a good place to live indeed, as it is not too far from Hong Kong and you can come back whenever you want. Going by air only costs you like 80 minutes from Taipei to Hong Kong, thats the similar travelling time from Hong Kong to Guangzhou.

Despite the earthquake risk, I dont see Taiwan being worse than Hong Kong as a place to live

Yeah i think it is particular good for people like me as a parent as taiwan is simply bigger than HK and there is plenty of activities to do in the weekend. And yeah, it is extremely quick to travel to HK back and forth and cost you just around 1k HKD. Also earthquake has been ok this year.. Hope continues :)

Oh I thought you are from Taiwan as from your blog posts! Guess you had new experience gained from living in Taiwan! I also wanted to try to live in Taiwan...hope there will be an opportunity for me! Looking forward to your posts related to Taiwan

Well one thing bad about taiwan might be job opportunity, it is hard to find a job here if you are not citizen and because of this, many hkers move to taiwan are those who are approaching their retirement. Will post more about taiwan in future !

I see. I just heard many Hong Kong people are choosing Taiwan as a place to retire.

Dont know much about job opportunities... It may be an issue for foreigners not getting employed. But think deeper it is usual for employers not employing them as they know the locals more and its easier to lead them.

Yes for retirment, taiwan is much better as it is more spacious and more greens. But for the job, you know the average salary is around 30k NTD and in order tor you to get a work visa as foreigners may need 40k-50k so it is not easy to get such job.

Yeah for a higher salary you need to be in some professional jobs. But when it comes to such jobs, you will need some qualifications to apply. I guess foreign people would need some local qualifications attained in Taiwan. That makes things even complicated and difficult for them.

Exactly and i know many people like taiwan but if i tell them that would you still come over if it means 50% salary cut or more? People will have doubt and hesitate because after all you may be as busy as HK but salary is only half of it. But ofcourse the living of standard could be higher in taiwan, but that is a personal choice.
