How I Lost My Motivation but Then Came Back Strong

Introduction

Hey! It's been a while since my last post. I hope you are doing good for the last six months, and I hope you got what you have been wanting for. What about me? I cannot say a lot of things happened for me, but I am pretty contented with what I am working for right now.

Just to fill you in with the details, I have written some blogs that are ready to publish but I stopped myself from doing so. At that time, it did not feel right to post it because I was afraid it might flop. And when it flops, it will not satisfy me since it did not feed me with that instant gratification.

My Journey

Instant gratification refers to the desire to experience pleasure or fulfillment without delay or deferment. Maybe I got myself too involved in this feeling and possibly ruined me. I lost the motivation to do almost anything such as learning Japanese every day or learning how to draw. I lost my everyday streak and unable to continue again.

Also at that time, I was almost reaching a body weight of 70 kilograms and was probably overweight considering my stature. I wore loose clothes since it just felt right and it kind of hides my belly fat. When we were snowboarding, sometimes it was difficult to stand up because of that fat. Although I managed to learn the skill, my legs could not handle the long period of such exercise.

After the honeymoon phase of snowboarding, I decided to apply for a gym membership in the nearest place here in my area. To be honest, I almost procrastinated at that time but still pushed myself to go there. After I got the go signal to start there, I looked up online on what to do as a first-time goer. I listed all workout routines that I wanted to do, and I also learned the concept of calorie-in/calorie-out.

The problem of working out is that you do not get the immediate results, but I still persevere. Sometimes, I got discouraged why my body weight was still increasing despite lifting heavy weights. I searched up again and found out that having enough good sleep is one factor. I also decided to monitor my intake in order to follow the correct portions of my daily macronutrients.

Then six months after, I now see the effects even though I still have my cute belly fat. You know, I realized and learned a lot of things. I realized that I should have started earlier, and I learned that working out is not the direct solution to losing weight but instead it makes our body be on the healthier side.

I can say to myself that I am kind of consistent when it comes to working out. My mind and body want to walk more or lift more. With that though, I currently don’t know what to do outside of exercise hours. Maybe my mind needs another stimulation. Maybe it is time to try again doing the things I was doing six months before. I just need to make sure that I apply the same mindset to the thing that I have been wanting to do. There’s no concrete plan yet but I wish can find it. Hope you do as well.

Afterword

Hey, if you have reached this part. Thank you very much for reading. This is my third post now and I wanted to try blogging again with the mindset of not thinking too much before publishing. In previous blogs, I kind of distracted with the increasing number of likes. So, for now, my goal is to share what are my current thoughts and just ignore the numbers (lol)

Hope you are having your good start of the weekend. See you again! Bye!!

PS: To clarify, I do read some blogs even if I was not posting. (Basically, a lurker)

Hmmmm, sana all sa gym.. but yeah you’re right. Actually, I’m now in the same position as you when you thought of procrastination. So now, I’m pushing myself again to go out and get moving in the treadmill… well, that will be in a short while. Teach us the things you’ve learned. I’m sure it will not just be me who will learn what those routines and habits you did.

And welcome back!
